With a short ferry trip from Cannes, you can spend a relaxing day exploring the highlights of Île Sainte-Marguerite. You'll find plenty to do on the scenic island, from forest trails showcasing the diverse flora and a fauna to Batéguier Pond – a bird-lover's hotspot – and Point de la Convention.
You may also want to visit Fort Royal, a former prison where the Man in the Iron Mask is said to have been incarcerated, today a maritime museum with a wealth of ancient artefacts. Please note that from autumn to spring, the Royal Fort and Museum is closed on Mondays, and from November to April, all restaurants on the island are closed.
