On this full-day, guided tour, you’ll explore Knossos and Heraklion in Greece. Firstly, you’ll visit the Palace of Knossos. You’ll discover that Knossos was discovered in 1878 by Minos Kalokairinos. You’ll also learn that the palace dates back to the Minoan civilization. You’ll learn more about the myths and legends associated with the city and its historical inhabitants from the Neolithic period to the Romans and Greeks. You’ll then visit Heraklion. You’ll see the old Venetian harbour before proceeding to the old town centre. Here, you’ll explore the central square, surrounded by cafes, stores and restaurants. You’ll also observe the Lions Fountain built by General Morosini in 1628, in Heraklion’s central square. Additionally, you’ll view the Archaeological Museum in Eleftherias square. You’ll learn that the Archaeological Museum is known for its Minoan exhibits. You’ll also see the Agios Minas cathedral and the Agia Ekaterini Museum.
