This private walking tour of Ferrara will help you to uncover the city’s most famous historical landmarks.
Starting at Este Castle, you’ll find out about the site's ancient history dating all the way back to 1385. As you stroll around the castle grounds, you'll hear stories about when the site was an important stronghold of political and military control and how it helped protect the city.
You’ll then continue to the city's impressive Romanesque-style cathedral. This iconic landmark dates back to the 12th century and contains architectural features from different eras in Italian history. Your guide will point out highlights such as the famous bell tower designed by Leon Battista Alberti in the 15th century.
