This tour will bring you back to the city’s Red Light District era when the mob ruled, prostitution was profitable and stars of the time – like Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin – performed at the casinos.
You'll see places like the former 1913 Oleander Hotel where African Americans could safely stay, the barber shop where the Maceo Empire bootlegged and the former home of Molly Waters, the city's most legendary madam-turned-millionaire. You'll stop at the railroad that used to bring in 40,000 men a day in to find 'love' and Postoffice Street, where more than 50 prostitution houses were located.
This will be an authentic tour, as it has been organized according to research and information from sources like old newspapers, FBI agents, books, documentaries and interviews.
