We were there for New Year and visited a restaurant called Værdsat. The 9 course menu, wines and semi-informal service were great.
We live just outside Odense and just needed a room to stay for the night due to Odense having atrocious public transport outside the city's postal codes and there being a "five wines" menu with the meal 8D.
Odense is a lovely town with lots of history, some of which is being (IMHO) vandalised by modern architecture, which some people will love. But it is a fairly sleepy town with only the HC Andersen attractions being of real note to outside visitors. But there is enough to do here for a weekend. Come in the summer though, as it can be a bit grey and grim in the cold season.
Parking can be a problem and overpriced shop leases (not enough competition and too much real estate in the hands of too few people who know each other) mean that the selection of shops is a bit limited with more empty leaseholds than I like to see.

Good location and parking was easy to find and beside the hotel. We could pay and organize the parking at reception (who were very helpful).
Excellent restaurant and a very good breakfast (good quality food).
Nice room with an excellent shower, good bed, nothing to complain about.

The location was wonderful.
The location was wonderful. In my first series of comments regarding our hotel, I forgot to mention that there is no television in the rooms. For me, that was not a problem, but it might be for others.
Odense is a charming town with a very walkable downtown and easy parking.

As the native home to Hans Christian Andersen, the city is built strongly around him. But not exclusively, with other attractions including the downtown Sankt Cnud Church and the many surrounding parks. The entire neighborhood around Andersen's birthplace has been preserved in the 19th century Danish style. I found the cuisine was top-notch at Grønttorvet and Marcantonio

I came for the Han Christian Andersen museums but Odense is charming on its own. Very walkable, safe, clean and friendly. The HCA museum far exceeded my expectations; indescribably incredible. I appreciate Odense even more after visiting Copenhagen next. I didn’t research or do well with restaurants. I’m so glad I ended the stay with a visit to Egeskov Castle.

Our main purpose was to attend the Denmark Open Badminton tournament at an arena out of town and made only one visit to the city centre. Easy access using public transport. Big pedestrian shopping area and good choice of restaurants and the one we tried (UBN) was very good.
I traveled alone for business in Odense, and the hotel was the perfect solution. It is very close to the train station, the room itself was clean, the hotel staff were very friendly, and surprisingly the room was very well insulated from outside noise. The bed itself was comfortable, the bathroom also very manageable, and the room made great use of the small space. Also, there are plenty of shops and transit options from right outside the hotel. Cannot recommend enough.
Super location downtown Odense. Close to all the things you want to see. Breakfast was very tasty, they make the small effort of doing things just a bit better than other places which makes it great, eg. good sausages, tasty cereals. The reception was super nice, warm, heartfelt welcome. We had a great time and would visit City Hotel Apartments/Nattergalen again.
our stay for business was exemplary. Everything from the food to the staff and quality of care was brilliant. Our server Nicholas as well as the bar attendant the evening of our stay were brilliant and friendly. We were even given a take away breakfast at 6am due to needing to leave so early. Brilliant hotel with class sewn into every inch. will stay again.
This was a great find in Odense. It was a quiet place yet only minutes from town by car. The hotel had a wedding going on the first night but you couldn't hear anything in the room. The breakfast was very good and the room was quite comfortable. Very friendly staff with greetings every morning.
Denmark's Lumby neighborhood of Odense living: Great quiet place in the suburb of Odense City Denmark with tree lined streets. Great home with a large lot and garden on the back and with a drive way kind of car parking (Free). Great host and they live in the same house and very helpful.
The property was very clean, was near to the center ville of Odense and near by there is a nice castle too.
The staff is very gentle even they offering the apples from their garden & they left you some cows milk from their farm.
Highly recommended this apartment.
Best location in Odense, have been there many times. Because it's in the middle of town, and more that it's an old hotel, it can never be really quiet. So you have to deal with that. The breakfast is very good
All in all, the hotel I prefer in Odense
- The apartment is near the city center, and there are restaurants and shops close to it ( 2 to 5 min)
- The Place is super clean and I found everything I needed.
- The shower is clean and the kitchen is well equipped.
- The neighborhood is calm.
Odense City B&B is amazing, cozy and super clean! staff is nice and welcoming. Position is excellent to reach any point and the stay is absolutely valuable. I love this place and I totally recommend to all travelers want to stay in Odense.
We chose Hotel Odense because of it's connection to the sports arena where we watched the Danish Open Badminton Tournament over 6 days. The hotel provided the perfect base and excelled in terms of breakfast and restaurant options.
Close to the train station. Great for my first visit in Odense.
Breakfast was excellent and they offer free coffee!
Minutes away from all the key tourist places and very friendly staff.
Will be staying here again!
Large room, good beds, nice breakfast. Very kind reception. Quiet location. We could rent bicycles for 100DK each at the hostel. We enjoyed very much visiting Odense by bike! The city center is 10min biking.
The location was very nice, short way to city center and convient with a parking lot in front of the hotel although only for four car. Nice balcony outside the room. Friendly staff and very calm everything.
Milling Hotel Mini 19 is well located in Odense. It is close to the train station and the city centre. The staff was extremely helpful and the communication with them was good before and during my stay.
Fantastic hotel, beautiful interior, super friendly and helpful staff and great location - 5mins to town, train station and the Odense Letbane / light rail is right outside the door
