Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath is a beautiful city situated in a bowl, hence the natural springs. Walking around within the city is good, but if you want to venture out a little it becomes hilly. We love walking / running so any other form of transport is not something we go for.
Architecture is stunning

The Roman Baths are a must visit.
The Roman Baths are a must visit. There is a lot more to see than you think and it takes a good 1.5 hours to appreciate, book in advance and go early. Assembly Rooms very interesting with an extremely knowledgeable guide. Fantastic turkish delight coffee shop. Pulteney Bridge was beautiful and don't forget to watch the gulls playing on the weir! Sally Lunn's eatery was worth the wait. Didn't have time to see Crescent and Circle on this trip. Will visit again.

Difficult to suggest places to visit as I lived in Bath for 4 years during the 80s, so this wasn't a sightseeing visit. Ate at Ponte Vecchio, which was really good if a little pricey.
Easy to get around Bath on foot, but leave the car at home if possible.

It's easy to walk around the city.
The centre is very attractive, with lots of old buildings, and new ones built with the local stone.
There are several interesting museums and art galleries, and the fascinating Roman baths.
You can choose from a wide variety of excellent restaurants, some of which have vegan options. La Terra in John Street was particularly enjoyable.

A delightful City, full of history, beautiful buildings and sights. It is easy to walk around and there are plenty of excellent cafes, restaurants and bars for the weary. Particularly worth a visit are the Baths and the Cathedral. The theatre too is in a historic building and has a good repertoire, giving a pleasant way to spend an evening. The surrounding countryside adds to the attraction of the place. Well worth a visit.

A very beautiful city with lots to do.
A very beautiful city with lots to do.
The Roman Baths are well worth a visit, expensive at first glance but there is much more there that it looks and very interesting too.
Sally Lunn's is the place for the Bath Bun if you can get in. Lemon curd may sound weird but it is delicious!
Of course the architecture is amazing and it was interesting to see the honesty in the Abbey when it came to reporting on the influence of slavery.
The Boathouse had the best guest room I have ever stayed at. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was quirky and fun. Having the balcony looking out over the river gave us a great space to get fresh air and enjoy the view.
The pub and restaurant carried on with the quirky decor and made for a relaxing area to sit and eat. A big shout out to the staff, especially Chloe, who made our stay really special.
Having the park and ride next door was great as it made getting in and out of Bath city centre really easy.
I was looking for a place to stay for one night and I found this hotel. I chose it as it was cheap and the location was perfect, in the city centre. I was rather shocked when I entered the hotel; the interior looked luxurious. The staff was friendly and welcoming and willing to help. My room was small (I chose a small one for one night stay for one person) but so clean and neat. It has everything you need. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay in Bath for a reasonable price, The Z hotel should definitely be your choice.
The hotel is centrally located, with eateries and pubs around it as soon as you step outside the door. Kingsmead Square is a 2 minute walk and Bath Abbey, the train station are just a quick 10 minute walk from there hotel. The hotel rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed and there’s also a TV in the room. They also have a restaurant and bar inside the hotel. Breakfast is served in the morning. The staff was very helpful and friendly too. All in all a very good stay.
The beds were very comfortable (I do a lot of traveling and these were by far the best). The quality of the bathrooms was very good, they were like a good-quality hotel. The hot tub was a great bonus. There was plenty of space and having the office space was really good for us. It was easy to walk into town and there were shops close by to get provisions. Really appreciated the parking. The appliances were of excellent quality.
An absolutely perfect hotel, the best experience I have ever had. The exceptional interior and attention to detail. Such a comfy bed, beautiful robe and slippers. The spa was exceptional! Bucket list moment! Staff were incredible, nothing was too much trouble, they truly went above and beyond for us, especially Elly! Perfect location, close to so many beautiful parts of Bath, I can’t wait to visit again!
We had a very pleasant stay for 5 nights.
The room was extremely spacious, very comfortable & extremely clean.
The staff are helpful, officiant & friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
The location is within easy walking distance to the city centre or 2 minutes away by a regular bus service so no need to worry about the car.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to visit Bath .
Staff were very friendly and helpful (especially Claire). The room was spacious, clean, and had a fridge and kettle as well as a small sink and supplies. The location was perfect for walking into Bath center. My husband got a really great workout in the gym, so it must have been a good one! Highly recommend this hotel 👍 No breakfast, so go to Kingsmead kitchen for an amazing breakfas.
Beautiful hotel located not far from Bath city centre (15 min walk) with wonderful decorations and friendly, helpful staff. The spa was really enjoyable, especially the outside heated spa pool. The room was faultless and very decadent with a 4 poster bed to our surprise. Gorgeous marble bathroom with wooden features. The room had a lovely coffee machine which was great.
While the hotel might not look as charismatic as the rest of Bath, the location is very handy -- close to everything. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom was amazing: spacious, clean and with great light and a fantastic shower.
We used the gym for a bit, a nice thing to have on site. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and stored our luggage after checkout.
This is a lovely hotel in a great location a stones throw from Bath city centre. The building is old and the hotel accomodation refelcts the historuc nature of this part of Bath. The staff were very accomodating and breakfast wsa very good. I enjoyed my stay.
The location was perfect as not too far to walk and then after a leisurely stroll you are in the centre of the lovely streets, shops and all Bath has to offer.
The hotel is beautiful, traditional, very clean and luxurious with friendly helpful staff.
The room was very spacious with elegant decor. The bathroom was spotless and huge. Jeremy could not have been nicer. He showed us around the hotel and helped us with our luggage. We were very comfortable.
It's a unique and chic boutique hotel.. The restaurant has fabulous food -- breakfast & dinner!
The location is perfecg and serene and easy to see all of Bath within walking.
