The check in was at a hotel in Ness, which is where you arrive with the boat. The studio apartment was located near the beach, which was great for a(n) (evening) stroll. Unfortunately the sunset beach restaurant was closed due to covid, otherwise it would have been great to see the sunset from their terrace. Upon arrival there were some chocolates and a bottle of wine. The bed is very comfortable and there is a record player for some background music to listen to.

This was the second time we’ve come and have loved it.
This was the second time we’ve come and have loved it. As soon as you reach the island you immediately relax. Both times we’ve had bad weather but the strong winds have helped blow the clouds and rain over quickly. Gollum is cute town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The shops are also great to explore. There is a coop is you stay self catered. The first time we hired bikes to get around and the second time we brought our own. Bikes help you explore more. The paths are well signposted and you can reach secluded beaches. The first time we discovered Ameland Adventures. We’ve hired surf boards and even tried the land sailing which was one of the best hours ever. Every time we’ve eaten at the Sunset Beach Bar. The view is incredible. Although slightly pricey, we’ve never been disappointed. We’ve promised to come back every year!

Beautiful dunes, a charming little forest, long and wide sand beaches and a nice lighthouse. That's the nature part of Hollum. I can't tell much about Hollum itself, because I was there during Corona time.

Hollum is a cute village at the western end of Ameland.
Hollum is a cute village at the western end of Ameland. There are plenty of things to do just around the village and the surrounding area. We went to the beach a lot, on bikerides through the lovely woods and visited several restaurants, which were all nice.

Small beautiful village with many pubs/restaurants.
Small beautiful village with many pubs/restaurants. Ideal start for bicycle trips, beaches are very close to the village. Lighthouse is a must as well as boat trip to Robben Island where you can see seals. Amazing experience.
The location was wonderful! The island itself is extremely relaxing, and the house was at the end of a cozy and quiet village lane, well within walking distance of bike rental, restaurants, the village, and beautiful strolls across the island landscape. We could see the lighthouse and an old windmill from the bedroom windows, and there were several small farms in the area with sheep, horses and chickens. The house was extremely clean and everything was well-organized.

We stayed with my mom and my dog at Hotel Dolores. I loved everything about it - it’s located at a quite village Hollum on Ameland. We arrived with the first ferry - so very early, and the room was already waiting for us. We slept under the sky full of stars seen through the roof windows, enjoyed the solarium in the shower - how fantastic it is!, walked everywhere, had a great breakfast. The hospitality of staff is amazing. I’d love to return. I loved it.
Our stay at Hotel and restaurant Cantina Dolores was excellent. The owners and staff were so kind and helpful making sure all your requests were met. We had tapas for dinner which was great fun and s super self service fresh breakfast buffet. You could cook your own eggs and bacon. The sauna was super welcoming after the chilly ride. We stayed in the family room which was spacious and the beds very comfy. Can highly recommend this place.
The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was super clean & spacious and the beds were comfortable. The location of the Welvaart is also nice, it is only a short walk away from the center of Hollum and by bicycle it only takes a few minutes to get to the coastline. We've enjoyed our stat at De Welvaart!
Charming and cosy chalet, decorated with taste. We really enjoyed the calm and the remote location in Hollum. The tenant was kindly available to support us setting in. We would just suggest to translate the documentation, especia
lly relating to heating and hot water in English (otherwise we would have given a 10) .
there was sauna, pool and squash field, so we had a lot of options besides exploring the nature around. apartment was very clean , everything was in a good condition, and also cozy atmosphere. administration of the hotel was really nice and professional.
Location was amazing, nice and close to the beach, easy to get to. The outside garden bit is completely open and quiet which is nice but if you take a dog, do make sure you can secure them. Possibility to eat in from the restaurant.
No a la carte but buffet option, good meal deal. Breakfast good and various. Kids corner n reading/lounge living. Close to beach and only forest at Ameland, and a duck lake with various bird behind the property. Small playground.
Very nice apartment, convenient for exploring Ameland. We were happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our second visit.
