Quaint and charming little town, we stayed for one night but...
Quaint and charming little town, we stayed for one night but actually we didn’t need to. We saw everything we wanted to in one day (on foot) and had dinner there. The nature is peaceful and beautiful and the Fries people living there are all very friendly. The planetarium was cool and the Museum Martena was really cool bcs we it was a little bit interactive.

It's a charming small town with a rich history which remains...
It's a charming small town with a rich history which remains mostly intact. We went for the Eise Eisinga Planetarium which was absolutely worth the trip. We also highly recommend the city museum, Museum Martena, a 'city castle' from 1506 which also has a nice garden, especially in the spring. I would have liked to visit the grand city hall as well, but it was closed that day.

The location is next to a little canal, very close to the centre of Franeker, you can enjoy the view when you have your breakfast on the terrace. The bedroom was original, beautiful, big, and very comfortable. I could enjoy a super night and a very relaxing time in the bath. The breakfast was generous. I really recommend you to have dinner there too in the evening. It was delicious and a wonderful moment.

We enjoyed watching the boats go by from the cozy living room. The place has everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Franeker is a charming village and the perfect spot to explore the area. We highly recommend it!

The room (no elevator) was in the 1st floor and was exceedingly quiet and comfortable, especially the beds! Also, the on-site restaurant was very good. Finally, the staff was excellent - meeting all patrons with a smile!
