A charming little B & B about an hour north of Montreal [two hours if your are driving during rush hour in the afternoon]. I arrived at the inn at about 7:30 PM, was shown to my room, deposited my luggage, and went down the road a few kilometers to Recto-Verso Restaurant for dinner. It was the most exciting and tasty meal that I had in Canada during this journey -- I had the multiple course discovery menu. The next morning I was offered two choices for each of the two courses at breakfast. I had the oatmeal apple crisp and the smoked salmon and bagel. It was wonderful. Then I took a pleasant drive for about 75 minutes north then west to Parc Omega. Spent about 5 hours there and had a great day before retuning to the inn for their special fondue dinner [something I have never tried -- I have only had the experience of cheese fondue]. I chose beef, which was really tasty when cooked in a savory and flavorful broth. I was offered 8 jumbo shrimp -- complimentary -- to try and really enjoyed that. My flight left Montreal at 6:30 AM and I thought I would miss out on my second breakfast -- I had been looking forward to trying the French toast covered with berries that I saw other customers eating. The chef offered to prepare a bagel with salmon to go -- since French toast would not travel well - and left it in the mini fridge in the breakfast room for me when I left the inn at 3 AM. I got to the airport in an hour -- a really easy and pleasant ride with no traffic at that hour Rather than stay in the touristy Mont Tremblant town or the crowded Montreal city -- both areas with expensive sleeping spots -- I suggest a small inn like Auberge de la Gare in St. Adele as your base for a visit to the Laurentian region. For younger and more athletic folks, it is right in the middle of the Petit Train du Nord cycle and walking path. Even I took a brief walk on the path which runs nearby. Try to get one of the rooms with a giant spa tub -- that was a relaxing...
