We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

For those who likes to be in nature. There is nearby two very good birdwatching places: Maarian lintutorni and Laajalahden lintutorni. I also recommend to visit Villa Elfin nearby. Also Gallen-Kallela museum is worth of visiting.

The private sauna and access to the lake was our personal highlight. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We had a very nice time and the stay in the cottage was definitely our favourite part of our trip to Finland. Thank you very much for the wonderful time, we would definitely come back!

I like the scenery from the window, which is towards the sea. You can use the sauna and pool until mid-night. And you can even hop into the sea in between your sauna sessions. You can borrow bikes from the hotel. We could have done it, although I didn't know how the bicycle parking should be done in Helsinki.

Metro station is 5 minutes walk and you can get Helsinki in 15 minutes via subway. It is sparkling clean. The staffs are friendly. The hotel was really quite although there were lots of guests there. I do recommend this place to stay for short or long time.
