The facilities are very good at the main hotel, the resort a bit of a trek getting from one to the other but not a big deal for fit people . BIG BUG BEAR: Are guests having to pay parking facilities of £20 per night, shocking. that was
£80 on to our already large bill ,and also £23 pounds each for breakfast 3 nights another £138 on to our bill

First time in Wales for me. Everywhere we went met with friendly people. Even the girl in Next chatted while serving me and laughed with me about my day.Family meal (14 of us) at TGF. Made welcome and served with a smile all evening. Coffee shops also had staff interested in our stories. we were down for a Bridge Congress so not involved with sightseeing. We walked in to Maindee for a meal on Sat evening, expecting a better selection than we found....but an interesting Caribbean Restaurant ( a bit more like a cafe really) but the food was OK and freshly prepared and the price was reasonable

There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding...
There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding countryside. My favourite feature is without doubt the famous 'Transporter Bridge'. You have the choice of numerous venues for both Rugby and Football matches and a great selection of local Parkruns.MichaelIreland

Place stinks throughout but the room was fine. Certainly not a place to stay for a holiday. Our query about the broken bedside lamp was dealt with straight away. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable three nights including a good, hot shower and king sized bed. Parking was convenient in a multi storey next door which was locked overnight.

Another taxi driver didn't hear of it.

It worked out cheaper for us and 2 friends than a hotel and we definitely will stay again when we are in the area next.
