Not a destination, but perfect for passing through.
Not a destination, but perfect for passing through. I was on my way to dive in Key Largo. All I needed was a good night's rest without paying for an expensive room in Key Largo. Florida City/Homestead was 30 minutes out, just right for a late arrival and early departure. Plenty of affordable food choices and services.

The location was wonderful.
The location was wonderful. The area had various things to do. Everyone should make it their first and only stop before heading south into the other keys, experience them all, then return back to Florida City and enjoy the rest of your stay. Don't forget to book a room at Holiday Inn Express for a great time, and awesome breakfast and dip in their very clean pool.

I liked best Everglades and Biscayne National Parks that are close to Florida City. Coral Castle was also very interesting. The outlet mall had some good deals and numerous restaurants are in close proximity. Both O'Deeny's and Yardie Spice restaurants make excellent and unique meals.

I'm a Miami resident and had family who lived here in the past so am well familiar with Florida City. Great waypoint for Robert is Here, the Everglades, the big mall, the upper Keys. Pretty long drive from Miami but easy to find everything in this gateway town.

Was informed that city was an unsafe area and full of crime.
Was informed that city was an unsafe area and full of crime. But that didn’t seem to be the case.
Besides the idiot drivers bearing Florida license plates, driving in Florida City with the layout was good. Be prepared to be cut off repeatedly. But this epidemic was everywhere in Florida.
Florida City was centrally located to our sightseeing areas and much more affordable than others.
Lots of great eateries.
Take an airboat tour. (Groupon)
Take your kids to “Robert is Here”
Just don’t shop at the Wal-Mart thinking it’ll be like your own local Wal-Mart. It’s the worst.
The staff was amazing. William, Alexia, and Sam (day desk staff) went above and beyond to help us with any questions we had. Super friendly; gave us lots of options for things to do and eat at. It’s a cute hotel and quiet (even though it’s on the main strip. The pool is great and we loved the outside decor. Tiki hut seating areas and brick oven grill.Felt safe with the nightly security guard walking around and checking on things.Hotel is close to many stores, restaurants, gas stations, entertainment, etc.
This hotel represents a great option to whom plans to visit Key West. The breakfast is very good, the staff is friendly, leading us to feel welcome. The rooms are properly clean, and the location is much convenient to go to Key West. Special thanks to the guy whom received us late at night, making us feel very welcome. The check in was quick and practical. I strongly recommend this hotel.
This is a historic road trip motel that has been remodeled and modernized and is clean and comfortable. The rooms have nice tiled floors and bathrooms, a comfortable bed, and a refrigerator. Breakfast was basic with yogurt, pastries, cereal, and hard-boiled eggs but was fine. Hotel is close to Highway 1 to the Keys and to the Everglades National Park.
The hotel building wasn't likeable to my satisfaction it's also located in a terrible area. The city is highly dangerous in a high crime area with drug addicts drug activity prostitution gang violence and robbery. The hotel price is over priced Budget motel isn't worth the asking price. my stay at budget was horrible and I don't recommend to visit.
The property was super clean and close to everything!.
The room was great, the bed was comfortable .
The pool was amazing, warm just the way I like it!!.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
It was our first time attending a NASCAR race and we had a fantastic time.
We are already planning our next trip to Homestead Travelodge by Wyndham :)
Given we knew the location, set up and price we were really pleasantly surprised by how good the hotel was. It all felt new and well kept. The pool was great - despite essentially being in a car park next to a main road, it didn’t feel like it at all. The pool was sheltered, clean and lovely and warm - and pool towels were provided.
It is great place to stay. Room clean and comfortable , having microwave and refrigerator are definitely big plus. Hotel offers good breakfast that includes drinks (coffee and juices), eggs and sausages, yogurts and fruits. Also it have large pool and recreational area
The lady at the front desk is very nice, calling you in the room after you checked in to make sure everything is fine. It’s one of the cheapest place in the area, perfect location to get to the Everglades or the Keys. Perfect stop for 1 night
The location was good and convenient for a stopover on the way south to the Florida Keys. Liked the concept of having 3 sleeping areas available. It was a fairly new hotel and had lots of USB ports and electrical outlets for electronics.
Everything : very friendly and professional staff, huge room, comfy beds, clean, great breakfast.
Close to the Everglades National Park.
Thank you ! We will choose for sure this hotel if we come back to Florida !
Is the only hotel I’ll stay when I’m in Florida City or if I’m just sitting the keys I have stayed there four times and it all been great. The room is clean breakfast is great and the staff is super friendly.
At the start to the florida keys. One of the last affordable hotels before crossing. You could stay here and still enjoy the keys if you don't mind driving each day.
