We spent most of our time walking around the city.
We spent most of our time walking around the city. There are lovely buildings with intricate architecture in places. I would definitely recommend a walk in the Stadtpark. I recommend the climb up to Schlossberg, the view is lovely!
We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Sclossberg, apart from the food , the view is spectacular.
Another place with even better food is Ginko, where I had the best food in a very long time. It serves vegan and vegetarian food, but I would imagine that everybody will like the delicious food on offer.

Graz is nice, probably a day is enough in the off-season but I expect you'd need 2 days when it's summer time and busier because of queues etc. Buy a 24 or 48 hour pass for Museums is worth the expense.

Ideal for you if you like historic towns with lots of landmarks, local food, some interesting shops, museums, a castle hill with a view. Our fave places were the old quarters, the old department store interior, and the view from its top cafe, the cathedral (heard practising for organ concert!!), beautiful bookshop Morawa with cafe on top, Castle hill...
If walking gets too much, use the funicular to get on castle hill and 24h bus/tram ticket to take you anywhere within city. We tasted Austrian food in Franziskaner Quarter (my fave part), vegetarian food in a more modern cafe and finally we ate at a Greek place (good value for money 20 euros per person).
We would avoid visiting in very cold or very hot weather.

We were there to see family mostly and only there for long weekend but have to say got to see fantastic sights of Graz from walking down little side streets to visiting museums and going up to high places to get a good view of the city. The people and nice too and friendly from the staff at our hotel to stopping in cafes and will always try and help if you need directions. It’s also a clean city as didn’t see much rubbish laying around and best of all it has great links to get around Graz both for sightseeing and if you need to get to airports. The transport links are very punctual and come regularly so no need to rush around

I was on a small trip to Graz for a lecture at the Afro-Asian Institute about Gender Equality in Buddhism. In my free time I walked through the city and saw some nice buildings and shops. I visited the Volksgarten not far from the main railway station and there is a stupa there for the buddhist community of Styria. After paying my respect I continued exploring the city and beside some closed down buildings I cannot complain about the city. To be completely honest, the closed down buildings are not even ugly, they just look a little bit sad. I really enjoyed my stay in Graz and want to come back there in the future.
A very nice and clean hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. They gave us a nice room on the quiet side of the street.
Breakfast options were amazing and it included loads of healthy and fresh food as well (which is rare for an Austrian hotel, since they mostly offer eggs, sausages and bread :D ).
Although we had no time to use the mini gym or the rooftop bar, I find it really cool that they have that as well. :)
The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the old part of the town and the train station.
Anyway, highly recommended.
The location is near the highway.
Room 506 was clean and comfortable.
The password key is easy to use without checkout.
Pizzawas are available only in 10 minutes, and you can eat in your room. The price is also low, about 7 Eur. Drink automat is not very expensive either. The prices are not high anyway.
The car park is convenient, accessible, and safe, just in the hotel's yard. The car park is free of charge.
Malls and markets are nearby although we did not need them.
The hotel price is also low comparing Austrian city hotels.
The hotel has a nice garage, the lobby is spacious and the room was very big for a hotel room (around 40m2), and clean, with a Nespresso machine inside which is really nice. The beds were big and confortable. The breakfast was good, but the coffee as in many austrian hotel is better to skip. The hotel is in the vicinity of a market with a couple of grocery stores in vicinity. The pedestrian zone (Mariahilfer strasse) starts nearby and will take you to the famous Kunstmuseum.
the Glockenspiel restaurant on the ground floor was great. The apartment experience itself was the worst I've had in over 30 years of travel to Austria (I go there for business several times a year). They truly couldn't give a single care about the customer. Also, note that the "Glockenspiel" in the name means that you are in a bell tower and the bell sounds outside the window around the clock. Nice.
Nice free parking.
Very good internet.
Kind staff.
Clean and modern rooms.
We actually had a mini-fridge in our room, although it was not mentioned on booking.com.
Good location, there is a tram route right in front of the hotel and it is a 30 minute walk to the center. A Bila supermarket also very close to the hotel.
Toiletries, clean towels and laundry.
Lovely modern hotel in a well-located part of Graz - an easy walk to anywhere in the city centre and about a 15 minute walk to the train station. I had a HUGE room - it was very comfortable and feels newly renovated. Well-insulated from street noise - very quiet. The room and common areas were clean. Breakfast was also very good. Friendly staff.
Great location walking distance to everything, very beautiful hotel, the staff were amazing very helpful and friendly. Also there is a large parking lot across the street which gave us a big discount because we were staying at the hotel.
Really cute retro style decor apartment- a whole apartment with many amenities and clean clean clean. Sweet gracious host in a quiet neighborhood with a nice little austrian restaurant a few minute walk down the road.
Spacious room, vicinity to the city centre, old charm of the hotel and especially kind staff. Lady at reception did not charge us for the parking which was rather generous. We will surely come back next year.
We had a very nice stay at the hotel. It is renovated, comfortable and clean. I had a request for the staff and they were extremely helpful. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious with a big variety.
Basic hotel, nothing special. Walking to city centre is possible; not the best neighborhood to return to late a night. Better take an Uber/Taxi. Prices are corresponding with location and service.
The room is small but it is sooo comfortable. I love the beds in this hotel. But the past part is honestly the staff - they are so nice, helpful, and make the stay really enjoyable every time.
Staff super nice and helpful also very close to the highway which is great if you are staying just one night.
All stuff speaking good English…which is not that common in Austria.
The hotel is in a very nice location - close to the Kunsthaus, river Mur and the city centre, with a very convenient connection to the train station. Also, the staff is friendly.
Friendly receptionist. A huge and spacious room with very high ceiling. The best shower we had in Austria!
The location is just fabulous, at the hear of the city
