Very nice complex. Clean, with very kind personnel and a good restaurant for diner and breakfast.
Located next to the Corgo River, this large eco-friendly and family-run B&B in the Douro Region consists of 6 stone cottages and 3 guest rooms in the main house.

Everything!... beauty and tranquility of the property, privacy of the studio cottage and lovely large veranda overlooking greenery and the river, staff and owner welcome, some food and wine options, proximity to the city and surrounding sights such as the Mateus Palace, etc.
Located a 15-minute walk from the center of Vila Real, Residencial Montanhês features a bar and a restaurant. Wi-Fi and parking, the latter when available, are free.

Great location, right trough the N2
Good staff with some quality tips.
Also has a private parking lot, although small but we had space when we arrived there.
Overall good place to spend the night
Residencial Real - Antiga Rosas enjoys a location in Vila Real, 15 miles from Douro Museum and 22 miles from Our Lady of Remedies Sanctuary. This bed and breakfast provides a bar.

Affordable price for a room with private toilet and breakfast included. I specially lile the option of single rooms for solo traveleres (so rare nowadays).
Casa Da Quinta De S. Martinho is a characteristic, rustic house of the Trás os Montes countryside. It offers free Wi-fi, a garden pool, and is 656 feet from Mateus Palace.

The location was the best but you cannot go for walks - the location is best for visiting Mateus. It is outside the town.
The dining room has classical interior but what spoils it is a large tv screen blaring out programmes like in a motorway restaiurant

Breakfast was lovely!
Breakfast was lovely! All locally produced foods, eggs cheese and bread! Fresh orange juice! We had no tv in our room ( some rooms do have tv’s) but this wasn’t a big deal! Would have appreciated another mirror-in the main bedroom as the the bathroom had the only one but again we managed. I had my tablet so accessed everything I needed on that. The honesty shop sold wine beer bread and snacks at vey reasonable prices! Ginas restaurant down the road was great and very cheap

Vila Real is at the top of the mountains in the Douro Region. It has extremely beautiful views, the city is nice and it has a lot of nature around it. You have many restaurants with typical food that are cheap. If you like eating, wine and mountains it's a perfect stay.

Other than a nice central church (Sé) and half a dozen historical buildings which can be seen in a couple of hours, Vila Real is one of the least interesting cities in Portugal, with a very ugly and disordinate built environment. Most buildings from the 70's and 80's with poor design.
The 'must see' item is by far the Palácio MATEUS on the outskirts of the city (in Mateus on the South entrance to Vila Real), an architectural masterpiece and an iconic place full of history and a beatiful setting.

One of Portugal's nicest regions, close to the fantastic Douro Valley and thus to lots of interesting wineries, but also far enough away from that valley so as to have good road connections (the Douro Valley is all winding secondary or tertiary roads, and it takes forever to drive any given distance). Finally, super-close to the charming Mateus Palace.
Beautiful and calm atmosphere. Lovely, quiet property, yet can walk to town easily. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. Lots of options, including a custom-made omelet and the view from the dining room of the trees was a peaceful environment. The staff in the breakfast room were also very kind and helpful. Bruno at the front desk welcomed us warmly and was a wealth of information in recommendations for dinner and hikes in the area. Bruno was always joyful and clearly loved helping guests. A great manager for the hotel.
Sometimes a simpler place can be more worthy than some other more upmarket locations. Clássico is an honest hotel that delivers a very good price/value ration. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, a clean and more than able bathroom, good breakfast and, as important as other things, a very friendly reception and a excellent effort from all the staff to make a guest feel like at home. This business deserves to be recommended to everyone.
We like this place very much! The location was perfect! It is very close to Matteus Palace and the city of Vila Real. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly, especially Rui. He always asked if we needed anything and he even brought us some coffee to the main room for us to sit and enjoy. Also, it was nice to walk around the place. The building is beautiful! Lots of history! The breakfast was fantastic!
Amazing place with a fantastic view, great service , great facilities , rooms, service. One of the best places you can stay in the Vila Real area , don’t hesitate. Beyond friendly managers, go over the edge to make you feel at home. Great experience with our kid there. We loved the included breakfast & very relaxing place!
Was more the vibe of an hotel
Beds were amazing; good matrassen, great blanket and with a curtain
We had our own bathroom
There was air-conditioning
Well equipped kitchen
Location is in the middle of the centre
I saw the girl who cleaned in the morning even cleaning all the cutlery that wasn't used
Amazing place to enjoy Vila Real side of Gerês. The pool and the view were very good and the location was great to visit Cascata do Taihiti, Fabril, Poço verde, etc. It also has a good restaurant where you can enjoy good Portuguese wines and food. We will be back soon for sure.
Quinta do Paço Hotel is an amazing place for a relaxing weekend. The staff is extremely friendly and always interested in helping, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the restaurant seems great (did not have the opportunity to try it).
I definitely want to go back!
Really helpful staff, very well priced rooms that are clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking as well. They serve a decent buffet breakfast as well!
The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from Vila Reals centre, so consider using public transport if you don't have a car.
Everything. We arrived late and Francisco offered us detailed info making sure that we have no problem checking-In.
The surrounding inside the hotel is just WONDERFUL, looking forward to getting back next time we are around.
Lovely hotel right in the center on the city, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and gave us advice on where to eat and visit. We had a room with amazing views over the valley and river.
The staff was really kind and respectful but the room was not so good. It was too small there were some shortages which are necessary for any hotel. For example there was no hand-washing liquid, no sandals etc.
A lovely hotel in a great location.
Fabulous swimming pool & spectacular views across the local town & countryside.
Typical Spanish hotel breakfast but very nice, only stayed one night.
