The city itself is nothing special (although it has a very nice park just to the south of downtown). What make Gura Humorului important is how central it is to the painted monasteries. As a base it is perfect to visit the monasteries of Humor, Veronet, Moldoovita and Sucevita.

Despite what we imagined, the city is quite big.
Despite what we imagined, the city is quite big. However, the beauty stands in the places that you can visit nearby, not in staying within the city.
There are many monasteries to visit nearby, there is also an Adventure Park and there are many trails you can take to visit the surroundings.
Also, this is a great place to come if you want to experience great romanian traditional food.

There are some nice restaurans on the main road (city center), very small park, big ortodox cahtedral.... And that's about it. If you step on the secondary roads, there are just small houses... very much like a village. Nothing interesting.
They have a nice park at the edge, ('Aventura Park'), that worths visiting, even though the plant/trees are not well pruned. They have tree climbing section, ziplines, swimming pool, an old suspension brige over Moldova river...

Not much to see in the town.
Not much to see in the town. It seems most people go there as a base to visit the monasteries. It caters well for tourists with lots of accommodation and eating options. Voronet is walkable in an hour, but it’s not a pleasant walk.

It is nice to go in the winter time, for skiing and for the slope. I feel that is not very safe the town in general, but overall it is a nice and quiet destination. I usually like to go up on the summit of the slope. Also, I ate some delicious „scrijele” and „papanași” at the restaurant situated at the bottom of the slope. Regarding the transport, I use to go by train, as my accommodation is not far from the railway station.
Spacious, clean and really well equipped, confortable accommodation near the city centre of Gura Humorului owned by a nice lady with whom the communication was really good. Contactless check in and check out, parking spot in front of the building, free coffee, perfect inside temperature were some of the thing we also appreciated.
If we ever visit Gura Humorului again we will come back to this accommodation for sure.
This was our favorite hotel of our ten day Romania trip. The rooms had lovely traditional decor and very comfortable beds. Staff was very nice and even gave my friend some small special gifts for her birthday!
We hired a private guide for the day, Florin Asgard, verpolis@gmail.com, who took us around to see the churches. He was fabulous and added immeasurably to our experience.
we had a mini suite at the new building of the hotel, the room is very very big, the bed was so very comfortable, better then at home! everything was very clean and modern. the location is perfect, just outside the city center so very very quite. breakfast was nothing special but had everything we needed in the main building. free parking available near the building.
Catalina, the owner is so gracious and helpful. Our suite was so beautiful and well appointed. The location was right in the center of Gura Humorului and close to markets and restaurants. Also…very close to several painted monasteries. We look forward to visiting Vila Boem again.
The apartment was very clean and the facilities are
similar to 5 star Hotel. We had excellent stay and the
owner is very friendly. Due to a long travel needed to do
a late night check in and the owner was more than
happy to accommodate our needs.
The hotel has an elevator, a good wifi signal in the whole facility. Delicious breakfast with good variety of food. A lot of entertainment for kids. Comfortable beds. The girl on reception was very nice even though she couldn't speak English well.
Great location right next to the town's central market. We used this town as a base to see painted monasteries. Fast wifi. Very clean room. Private parking behind the hotel, great if you drive your own car. The breakfast IS the best in town.
Brand new and large rooms, well equipped and comfortable and a very relaxing backyard with great views. Quiet area, but close enough for a quick dinner run in Gura Humorului. Highly recommend.
