Bayeux is a lovely town and very central to all of the D Day beaches and many other interesting places related to WW2.
The town is not too big so a lot can be seen in a reasonable space of time.
The British memorial cemetery there is one of the most poignant I visited.

Loved this town because it's like going back in time, when people aren't in a hurry and take pride in their town and their food, culture, etc. Proud that they survivied WW2, and the importance to educating their children about it. Had a lovely tour about that. Went to great restaurants that our hotel Hotel D'Argouges recommended for us. Le Pommier and Le Volet Qui Penche!! Like to go back when it's warmer to see the beautiful flowers in bloom, we went 3/8, so I would like to go back in April sometime.

Do not stay here, this hotel is unkept, dirty, run down, and in dire need of maintenance. The room was not what we booked, so we were forced into a tiny cramped room. I had to sleep with half of the lamp hanging over the bed. The window wouldn’t close, we were in the second floor but still unsafe
Located not far from Bayeux which is a beautiful town in Normandy. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We had a lovely breakfast every morning. Although I would have liked to perhaps have been offered a boiled egg, or perhaps yoghurt and fruit. However the bread, cheese and ham was good.
Nathalie, the owner was friendly and welcoming. And she gave us information on restaurants in the area.
This property was the perfect place to base ourselves for our trips to the Normandy beaches and also to Le Mont St Michel.
We loved our stay at Belle Normandy. The location is perfect, with beautiful grounds right on the edge of town, only a five minute walk to the cathedral and all the shops and restaurants. Our kids enjoyed the basketball hoop and would have stayed at the hotel much longer if they could have! The staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful on recommendations, and they also seem very proud of the hotel, which was renovated from an old school. It is a very special place, and I highly recommend it.
The Hotel Reine Mathilde has a wonderful location. We could walk to the Cathedral, Bayeux Tapestry, the Museum of the Battle of Normandy, and restaurants. The onsite restaurant was a plus. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. With one exception, the staff were kind and helpful. For example, there's no lift in the hotel, but two different staff members carried our luggage up and down the stairs.
The renovated farm is a wonderful place to base one’s exploration of this part of Normandy. Very close to Bayeux with the cathedral, tapestry and museum but also close to teh D-Dat beaches and Caen. Very spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, spacious showers, good lighting and charging facilities beside bed and an extensive breakfast buffet. Charming hosts
The breakfast was superior. There were homemade fruit desserts every morning. There was as much fresh coffee and hot milk for the coffee as we desired. Several croissants and fresh bread for every person. It was truly the best breakfast we've had in our six week trip through France! Thank you, Florence, for your outstanding service and wonderful hosting!
Our 4-night stay at Domaine de Bayeux was exceptional in all respects. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was larger than a typical UK hotel room and perfectly clean. Breakfast was complete with hot and cold items. We would stay hear again! It was a short and convenient 5-7 minute walk to the center of town.
Absolutely beautiful park like environment with wonderful staff with lovely rooms. Excellent restaurant and comprehensive breakfast offerings if you choose.
We were delighted to come home every day after spending time in the fascinating Normandy area. This hotel more than met our expectations, and we would gladly return.
We had the top floor suite and it was very big. The location was very good, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance (in Bayeux that is, not the Normandy beaches.) Breakfast was okay. When we checked out the front desk called a taxi for us to take us to the train station.
The home was spacious, extremely clean, huge and lovely garden to relax in. Lots of room for our family of 5 to spread out and very convenient to the Normandy beaches, Mont St Michel and the town of Bayeux. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, such lovely people!
Everything in the hotel was run to perfection, the room is spacious and the ground is beautifully maintained and the location is only a short drive to the Normandy coast and all the historical D-day landing sites. Big private parking area with two electric charging points.
Villa Lara was a beautiful property. It was in a great location in Bayeux, because the D-Day tour we booked started at a meeting point that was only a 2 minute walk away. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Great stay.
We loved this suite! To our surprise we had the whole top floor of the house, with a sitting room and mini kitchen in addition to the bedroom. Everything was perfect, and it was the nicest place we stayed in our whole 3 weeks in France.
Excellent 2 bedroom apartment within walking distance of the center of Bayeux and the 1944 Normandy campaign museum and the British cemetery. Good parking available on site and pool / gym facilities also (although we didn't use them).
Amazing, authentic house with a beautiful garden in the centre of Bayeux., Exceptional hosts, wonderfull breakfast. Couldn't have picked a better place to end our trip of Normandy. Will definitely be returning one day.
Excellent location, five minutes walk into the city centre, friendly helpful staff, great continental breakfast with plenty of choice, comfortable rooms. Great value for money. First choice for my trips to Normandy
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Bayeux. Excellent location for the station and town centre. The staff are very friendly and always on hand to help. Excellent breakfast using local produce. Highly recommended.
Amazing hotel, very friendly staff and great location. Can't be better at this price point. The room was small but comfortable. Bayeux city centre is walkable and parking in the hotel is very convenient.
Really great hostel in a historical building which is very close to Bayeux town centre. Very welcoming, clean, tidy an historically interesting by itself. I'd stay here again.
We were on a cycling holiday of the Normandy area. The hotel was very central to all the sights and even provided a secure room to store our bicycles in each night.
