This beautiful and historic castle is set within 1,000 acres of woodland. On the banks of the Moy River, it boasts a restaurant made from the remains of a 17th-century Spanish galleon.

Stephen!!! He helped with bags, helped with serving, took us on a private tour around the place…just a delightful guy.
Also, there was a young woman from Portugal who’d been there only 2 weeks, yet adept at serving with friendly helpfulness and hard work. She’s an asset!

Very flexible and friendly staff, made it special to stay
Ballina is a friendly and very interesting town. There are many places of interest with interest boards and murals explaining about people and places. The Jackie Clarke Collection is well worth a visit, and it is free. You can read about many people and events in the town and surrounding area then go visit them. It is clear the War of Independence and the Civil War had huge effects upon the town and surrounding area.

Plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in this picturesque town on the river Moy. We can see why Jack Charlton loved the place. We enjoyed watching the anglers waste deep in the river fishing for salmon. We had dinner in the hotel on both evenings and the food was great.

A lovely town, with lots to see and do in the area, nice places to eat, close to many other nice places to visit, so a good base for the area. Get out and enjoy the music and arts, and its ambition to be the most climate friendly town.

Would recommend Ballina for a break , people are lovely, Ballina Manor hotel was so friendly, staff could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble to them. Would definitely go back to Ballina again. Would also definitely go back to Ballina Manor hotel again.
10 minute drive from Belmullet. Scenic peaceful location. Views of lake, sea and islands from one bedroom and from the other bedroom the sea and Mayo hills .There was a side view of Achill. The welcome pack was extremely generous i.e Bread, butter, milk, eggs, bottled water, apples, oranges, bananas, cereals and a tasty cake.
Comfortable bed, spare bedding galore. Abundant storage.Plentiful supply of loo paper, detergent for washing machine and dishwasher. Soap and shampoo supplied. More than enough towels. Excellent Wifi, Netfix and Prime.
The Loft is right in the center of town, but I could only tell from the amount of people in the ground floor pub. The hotel above was very quiet and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been kinder, helping find shelter for the bicycle I was riding along the Wild Atlantic Way. The trad breakfast in the pub was terrific. One thing to note is that there are many stairs to get to the rooms, so take caution if you have ambulatory difficulty. If you are staying in or passing through Ballina, stay here; I would again.
Our hosts were wonderful. We had a long talk about our families, the economy, living and earning a living on a working dairy farm in County Mayo, raising children, immigration, how Ireland and Mayo are changing, agriculture policy and climate change, how EU climate policy affects farm management, and our shared family friendships. Seamus and Marcela are grand people, the food was very fine, their children took our teenager into the work of the farm, and we heard about local places most tourists would miss.
Family Friendly Hotel, away from the main road.
Fantastic Leisure Centre, big pool, kids pool & jacuzzi - geat kids menu for dinner also (both dinner & breakfast was fab), also noticed a lovely little kids reading library room when we were checking out.
And very friendly professional staff pretending they didn't notice our 2 ''energentic'' boys causing a ruckus everywhere we went!
Would def return if in the vacinity
Michaela was the friendliest most informative host we have had so far in Ireland. She sent us information on hood places to eat before we even arrived. When we arrived at the B&B, she greeted us with chilled wine, candy and a ton of local information. her breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed talking to her about the area over coffee. the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. All in all it was a lovely visit
This was a very nice, small self-service hotel. The rooms were very clean and nicely laid out. Even with the two pubs in the adjacent courtyard it was quiet. We ended up parking in the public parking behind the hotel since we had a 9-passenger van. Communication was great before and after our stay. Great restaurants near the hotel for dinner and breakfast. The shower was the best we encountered on our trip.
Everything! From the moment I booked it til the day we were going home we had easy communication with our host. The best time in the most comfy stylish spotless accomodation full of little quirks. A welcome pack & message on arrival. Walking distance into town. Shop/petrol station across the road. Central location to explore the Mayo North coast. We will definitely be returning!
Simbavati made our staying even more special in Mayo. Mary is an amazing host and made sure every single day we were comfortable at her place. The beautiful breakfast and comfortable room made us not miss home at all. I would highly recommended Simbavati for anyone that is looking for a nice stay in Ballina, in a quiet area plus enjoying the generous hospitality from Mary.
The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. We were on a motorbike trip so needed parking which is why we used this hotel as it had on site parking. Ballina was a perfect spot to split up our trip up the west coast.
We also used the hotel as it had a pool and sauna etc and we thought it would be nice to relax after a long couple of days on the bikes.
The genuine welcoming friendly hospitality of our hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble.
The cosy, comfortable accommodation from which to view tracts of natural Co.Mayo scenery.
The generous breakfasts which set you up for a day of walking or touring.
Location was good very close to town centre . Very good as a base for traveling around mayo to achill island innishchrone easkey local parks and the river Moy.. breakfast sevice was good anthing you required was catered for nothing was to much trouble.
Had the most amazing stay at The Woodlands. The hosts were beyond accommodating and made both my partner and I feel welcomed. To top it off you wake up to the most stunning view. I cannot wait to stay here again on my next trip to Ireland!
The hotel has everything going for it. The location in a beautiful part of the country, the services in the hotel, the great restaurant, and the wellness facilities make this a firm favourite when we travel to Mayo.
Nicola was lovely and responded promptly to all our questions.
The property was very clean and well equipped.
The location was practically placed for visiting Ballina town center.
Beautiful place, fantastic staff, spotlessly clean, would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ballina. Kathleen was a lovely person to deal with.
Great location, easy to find and close enough to both Ballina and Enniscrone. Very welcoming host, very clean facilities and great breakfast to start the day!
