Upgraded to junior suite - very thankful! Big bathroom, narrow but more than adequate living/kitchen/dining room, very large bedroom. Super clean. Large shower which did *not* tend to splash into the rest of the bathroom. Nice large porcelain tiling in bathroom, single sheet of tempered glass for backsplash in kitchen which is great cuz to my mind the less grout the better...nice mini bar and great tea selection. The building being built as post office in ~1937 is built like a concrete tank. Very quiet. Quiet area a quick few blocks from the Octogon and surrounds.

I visited the Farmers Market which was fun. I also had a takeaway meal of blue cod, oysters and homemade chips from Best Cafe. The meal was amazing.
I visited a part of the Botanic gardens which was lovely and watched a women’s rugby game at Opoho, just above the Gardens. We were treated to beautiful weather and a large flocks of wood pigeons!

It was very cold, but luckily it didn't rain and where we've stayed our heatpump was amazing. Dunedin is beautiful with very old beautiful buildings and lots of noisy students walking in the main streets until very late talking very loud and kicking rubbish bins.

We just stayed one night on our way to Stewart island as we have been here many times.
We did a trip to Port Chalmers as we hadn’t been there. It a a cute town with a working port. Worth a look and a bit of a walk around.
The perfect location to base ourselves for the weekend away. We were three girls and the room was roomy, spotless and luxurious. The spa bath was exceptional. Our host was excellent even when we had to wake him at 1am as our key didn't work. He had even left a spare in the lockbox for us!
We walked into town and all the way through town to St Clair. Near the hotel is a myriad of excellent artisan eateries. Buster Greens to name but one. I have always found Dunedin a bit hit and miss with accommodation but this is for sure, a hit.
What a fabulous hotel - design focussed, modern and not in anyway pretentious. The atrium and open hallways are beautiful and allow the art on each floor to be viewed as a whole. Loved the wee lounge areas in atrium. The initial sense of quiet and calm is superb beginning with the hassle free check in having pre done it all online. The beds are so comfy and the interior of the room was lucious - especially the bathroom. The mini bar was so reasonably priced we almost used it!!
The cafe is delicious - best coffee in Dunedin.
The location of the Victoria Hotel in Dunedin is fabulous, being in the centre of the city. There are 2 buildings to the hotel. We were there for my Daughter's Graduation & we had one room in the older building & one room in the new modern building. Our room in the newer part was very spacious, quiet & the beds were super comfortable. We also had kitchen facilities in our room, which was very useful. The room was also extremely clean & tidy.
Plenty of car parking at the hotel too.
This hotel is in the northern part of Dunedin, easy walking to the Botanical Gardens, University and the Octagon. It is very well maintained and very clean. They provide a good kitchenette with a full range of cooking utensils and a good selection of coffee and tea. The bathroom is clean and has a good heater. Comfortable lounge area and comfortable bed.
Staff very welcoming. We chose valet parking and all went very smoothly. Welcome tea on arrival was a lovely touch. Bar downstairs has great ambience and staff were exceptional and professional but warm and friendly also. We are in Dunedin on a regular basis and will make this our go to hotel. Definitely staying again!

Well presented and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. Everything you could realistically want for a short stay. Very close to the Botanical Gardens and restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Dunedin is 20 minutes walk or a short bus-ride from right outside the hotel.
Breakfast was of international hotel standard with amazing variety of cooked breakfast of your choice plus continental breakfast .Spoilt for choice on both counts.
The staff were attentive and very accomodating .
We did not have dinner but the cafe food was great too
Great location - very central and convenient. Secure parking. Very comfortable stay. Not too noise even though on main road. Good black out curtains. Best water pressure in shower of any hotel/motel I've stayed at. Good kitchen facilities. Good sized apartment.
Location to centre of Dunedin - very walkable but uphill on the way home :>) Good CV work out! Good parking - the only not so good thing was the smell of cooking oil filtering through the room/s from the kitchen / restaurant. Hotel good otherwise.
Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful from when I came in and when I checked out very early in the morning. Hotel location is awesome, very close to the CDB and most tourist attractions around Dunedin. Wifi worked great
Enjoyed staying at this hotel for a number of reasons. Very welcoming hosts, great location to town and rooms were good size and very clean. No A/C in room so we were provided a fan which was fine.
Great CBC location & central to everything.
A basic somewhat old fashion Hotel from Art Deco - Edwardian era, very comfortable but not posh.
WE highly recommend the Law Courts Hotel.
The hotel location is so convenient and easy to park my car, street parking is for free from 6pm till 9am. There’s Countdown nearby. All attractions are within walking distance.
Years ago we stayed at the Hotel del Coranado, where "Some Like It Hot" was filmed...Majestic Mansions is smaller, but has the same graceful Victorian charm...simple elegance
Amazing location - view, cafes, restaurants, beach walks and the lane pool behind the Long Dog cafe. We got free passes to the lane pool by staying at the Hotel St Clair
The design, the beds - cleanliness and big windows. Despite being a smaller hotel everything felt big and wide open. Wonderful ambience. And lovely staff!
