I’ve been traveling to Vanuatu since 2018. I’ve stayed in nearly every “budget,” a bunch of affordable, and a few ritzy spots. This spot for its price cannot be beat. Clean, running water, overly accommodating staff. Seriously, they washed my clothes and offered me a bigger room because it was available.
What set them apart is they refunded me for the first night of my three night stay since I was unable to check in until day two because of a flight delay. And they let me check in at 9am because the room was ready!
Look. Vanuatu is a silly expensive country. I’d say ludicrous at times. This hotel is worth it. Work with the staff and they will ensure you have working A/C, wi-if (given no storms), a bed, and a quiet space in the heart of Vila (which is very hard to find).
Vanuatu MG Cocomo Resort offers Melanesian-style accommodations, located a 5-minute drive from central Port Vila and a 15-minute drive from Port Vila Airport.

We were in Vanuatu for 4 days, the hotel is a perfect place to stay in Port Vila very close to the city center and the beach, the staff of the hotel is so kind and perfect they help you for everything.
The food of the breakfast is delicious and cooked by William so good. I wanted to thank the person again for his kindness :)

Our trip was a bit of a roller coaster , but overall we enjoyed our time there .
Highlights , 83 islands distillery tour was awesome . Mele beach bar great food , awesome staff and location and the fire show on Friday nights fantastic . Kids can swim at the beach , have a feed and watch the shoe -A+ . The markets were awesome as usual .
Low lights . We’ve been going to Vanuatu for over 20 yrs , and our recent trip to the cascades saddened us and emptied our wallets .
The current owners havnt maintained the place and the entry fee is extortion . The roads are next level knarly All 3 of our airport transfers were no shows which was disappointing but not the end of the world .
The people of Vanuatu are why we come back every time . They really are the friendliest people on earth .
Special shout out to Gideon and his family from Havanah eco lodge .
They treated us like family and we had a great time over there .

Port Villa is heaven on earth, I have been there 3 times and will always go back, with all the natural disasters this island goes through people are still so friendly and happy all the time, they live a simple life and always have a reason to smile, i strongly advise visiting the locals as it much better than staying in the resorts, the rivers , lagoons and beachs are surreal and its all so clean, the locals will always say hello and help you with anything you need.
There are plenty of taxis to go around, I would stay away from resorts for food and go into town as the resorts are extremely expensive and the town prices are so much cheaper.

Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained.
Fresh food and souvenir markets were very well maintained. Indeed the waterfront esplanade area was attractive apart from the toilets behind the stage set up for MAC festival which had a $1.00 AU entry fee. Our trip on the coral viewing boat was worthwhile. The Museum was a great disappointment especially given the high entry fee and the seeming lack of curatorial care in presenting historical perspectives such as WW2 events and impacts of colonisation.

The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite.
The local people were great: friendly, helpful and polite. There were good restaurants, particularly the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It was easy to get a taxi or bus on the street, but asking the hotel to get you a taxi may result in a long wait for their preferred driver to arrive.
We heard several stories from disappointed people who booked resorts where there was nothing to do and had ferry charges to get back to the mainland.

Exceptional place if you wish to get into the local lifestyle and explore the culture. There are nice places to visit like Mele Beach bar for Fire Dance, Blue Lagoon and Iririki Island for Snorkeling, Kayaking, swimming, casino and a lot more to offer that too at very affordable rates.

The accommodation is very easy to approach and can move all over Port Vila very easily. The owner of Dwellery and her family is amazing and they let you feel at home. It was fabulous experience staying at Janessa's Dwellery. The place is not a luxury place but hospitality and support for all the things is exceptional. The staff guides very nicely to arrange tours on your own. Highly recommended place to stay. Last but not least the breakfast is also satisfying.
Exceptional hotel. Very comfortable room, great amenities both in the room and on the hotel grounds. Well equipped kitchen gives travelers with special dietary needs all the comforts of home.
The hotel is right on the beach overlooking Port Vila Harbor. Great location for a tropical resort. Relaxing views from the room and veranda (if you're fortunate enough to get a beach front room). If you're planning a trip to Port Vila the Ramada is a great choice.
The rooms and the hotel grounds are wonderful. Rooms are well-equipped, comfy and spacious. The grounds are delightful, with fabulous ocean views. We weren't lucky with the weather, and it was very windy and quite cool but it was still a very pleasant stay. The food at both restaurants was all great, although very pricey like anywhere in Vanuatu. We enjoyed breakfast and tried something different each day - everything was delicious and fresh.
The Mariner is an exceptional property in Port Vila. While it may not have the swim up bar, it has incredible views, beautiful, friendly staff and a comfortable location to town. Lovely reasonably priced restaurants are a stones throw away. The apartment we stayed in is fabulous for families, in that it has two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen that allowed home cooked meals and a full laundry. The pool was a fun addition.
Very good value for money! We stayed 4 nights and were very happy! The bed was super comfortable, large room and a balcony.
Beth is the sweetest. She helped us out when we need to store our luggage for a couple of days, while going to Tanna. She even drove us to the airport!
Located close to the airport close to the highway. A little from the centrum but you can take local busses, easy and cheap.
The owner family of the property made me very welcome and became like family to me. They included me in local expatriate (European) life and activities. They made my 70th birthday about the best birthday that I have had, with their generosity and company. They brought single backpacker guests together and that made for the highlight of the trip to Vanuatu.
Lovely lodge in Port Vila. Conveniently located 10 min drive to the airport and 15 min walk to the city center. Nice restaurants nearby. Comfortable apartments with small kitchenette, nicely decorated, sea view apartments have a lovely view over the lagoon. Peaceful and quiet location. Very helpful staff, can recommend activities/tours.
The pool, air con helped with sleeping, Peter the gardener was lovely, such a nice happy man. The size, if your a large family this is perfect. Japanese restaurant down the harbour side road was lovely 2 mins walk away & the steak house was good to staff very friendly. This house throws you into Vanuatu and it's what you make of it.
We love the location and it’s so great to be able to use a kitchen occasionally and BBQ some good Vanuatu beef! Two bedrooms so we had space and step of the patio into the lagoon. Good little pool and great for longer stays. Clean, friendly and comfortable thanks 🙏 for our lovely relaxing stay. See you next time❤️🇻🇺
Overall the stay was pleasant, the staff is nice.
Bungalows are fairly basic, but ok if you do not expect high-end luxury of a 5 stars resort; I really liked the outdoor bathroom/showers.
Vanuatu was recently hit by cyclones, businesses are making their best to recover.
Wonderful experience, location, grounds and staff. The owners Mark and Constance are welcoming and have local knowledge to help you enjoy your stay.
I highly recommend this resort for your holiday in Vanuatu..I really can’t say enough about our stay, absolutely perfect
Location was great--just up the hill from the beach and a short walk into town. It was also just up the hill from Moorings Hotel where I had stayed earlier with a tour group so I knew I could hang out there and use their wifi because Room with a View had zero wifi.
Breakfeast and Dinner was ok, Service in fisrt evening very slow - we waited almost an hour.
The reception worked very well for our misssed luggages by Airvanuatu and the Manager even drived us to airport for pick up our luggages. WE really apreciate that !!!
The lodge is a comfortable in house (BNB / Backpacker style) shared accomodation. It’s close to town and perfectly suited our ni-Vanuatu family and friends staying in town, rather than doing the round island commute each day.
The Melanesian is centrally located to down town Port Vila. You can easily walk into town. It is fairly priced. The staff were exceptional - they were the highlight.
Room is okay but with many bugs.
Good location , beach right in front
Breakfast charge is hard to understand.
