Staff was wonderful. They went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. They changed our original rooms when they found out that we were unable to deal with stairs and added a second mattress topper when we explained we were experiencing difficulties with hard mattresses at other hotels. Rooms were nicely sized and I even had a partial view of the harbor.

Monkstadt House was amazing. Our room on the first floor was well appointed with tea, coffee, tv, etc. The bed was incredibly comfortable and everyone on the staff was very friendly. We had a spectacular dinner our first night and enjoyed starting our days with breakfast here. The property was a bit out of the way (single track road) but well worth it due to the silence in the evenings.

Shona was so nice and met me as I drove up with smiles. She went over everything I would want to know about the stay. Shona totally stocked the fridge with fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and several other fruits. Cereals, yogarts, brie cheese, and many other items were also provided. The place was spotless and looked to have been newly refurbished. It was a little over five minutes walk to the town square. I could not have been happier with the stay.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.

A beautiful highlands town. Dinner reservations can be a bit of a challenge, however, you are on vacation typically and need to be patient. The food is definitely worth it - I stayed 4 nights and did not have a bad meal or experience.Bonnie

We had room 12 - a family room with 1 double, 2 singles and a sofa. The room is large with a lovely view. A breakfast basket was provided, as was a fridge filled with juices, cheese, milk etc. Staying here was an ideal central base for exploring all of Skye, and it was also great for a boat trip from the Portree harbour which we also recommend. There’s a number of fish and chip restaurants etc nearby for dining in/take out.SamUnited Kingdom

The room was quiet with a comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom with an excellent shower. Only place we stayed in Scotland that had USB chargers in outlets to charge iPhones. Beautiful bungalow with immaculately furnished and clean rooms (ours had a separate personal toilet and shower across corridor, but no problem at all as directly opposite and complimentary bath robe was provided!). The host couple were lovely people and so helpful with tips on places to visit and a fantastic local knowledge. The breakfasts were amazing - especially the smoked salmon & scrambled eggs which would grace any 5 star London hotel! Portree harbour a pleasant walk of only 20 minutes.

The staff was lovely. Kudos to Donella at the front desk who ties everything together for us with humor and gracious personality. I would recommend this hotel highly.
