We didn't have time to explore very much on a one night trip, but we were impressed with the cycle infrastructure and the variety of restaurants and pubs, though some areas of the town were a little run down and shady. The bigWe rode through Lydiard park and were very impressed with it as a nice destination. Seemed like a lovely place to go with friends and family for a picnic and a walk or to jog or cycle around.

I used to live in Swindon and there are parts to avoid, ann the bottom of town isn't what it used to be, but for a great night out, there is Old Town. For country walks there is Lydiard Park and Coate Water. The surrounding villages and towns and close to the Cotswolds, Swindon is great for a central point

I stayed here for a course being held at the venue. My stay was perfectly comfortable, clean and facilities just right. Breakfast was delicious. It would've been nice to have the option of an evening meal. Overall, I was very happy with my stay.

    It had good shopping facilities.

It had good shopping facilities. MacArthur Glenn outlet was good. Homesense too Swindon has too many terrible drivers, who drive too fast & too close. There need to be traffic calming measures & more traffic lights. Terrible, inconsiderate drivers can't be trusted to obey rules & use roundabouts properly.

The ambiance and excellent food exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and fully equipped. The only negative was the bed was slightly smaller than a double which was a shame as a king size would have easily fitted.

There are some lovely parks in Swindon that if you are staying for leisure are worth a visit; Coate Water near junction 15 of M4; Lydiard Park near junction 16. The Town centre isn’t much to write home about, but a visit to the Great Western Train Village and Museum is very worthwhile. There is also a Macarther Glenn designer, Outlet Centre that is easy to get to with ample parking. At the outlet centre, we enjoy eating at Wagamama's. If you venture over to Greenridge, there is a Fiesta de Cuba restaurant. The meals are great and the price is very reasonable. We find just having a main is ample. It’s our favourite restaurant. Swindon has great transport links to reach surrounding areas; Cotswolds, Oxford, Bath, Bristol and Chippenham are all within shouting distance.

This is a proper 'studio' type apartment: a bedroom, shower-toilet room, and a lounge-kitchen, with a cosy, outside garden area screened from the owner's garden for a little privacy. Great facilities, friendly and helpful hostess, comfortable bed, and a good, quiet, village location, east of Swindon, but only minutes from the A419 junction. Good access for the M4 motorway. Off-road parking at property in quiet cul-de-sac. I would definitely stay at The Lilypad again.

The location in the centre of old town is excellent and the free parking an added bonus. We thought the hotel and it facilities excellent value for the price paid. The breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented and the staff friendly and helpful. The room and the en-suite were large and had good storage facilities. Our room didn't have a shower, but there was a very deep bath and plenty of hot water.

We had a very pleasant stay at SW bed and breakfast. We had a nice clean room in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of available parking and close to the town centre. Sara was an attentive host, very kind, and the breakfast she prepared was one of the best we've ever had. I must admit it was the best available option we found in Swindon, considering the price and the services provided.

The room was not comfortably warm and the double insulation for the windows was not so effective. The howling wind was very audible from within the room. I was on the 6th floor. Staff were truly recommendable. Hotel has easy access to the town centre. Unfortunately there are no coffee facilities in the room. Due of this, free unlimited coffees are offered at reception.

The location is great... Very well positioned for walking around Swindon, if you like walking (which we do). Close to shops, local attractions e.g. Steam Museum, etc and only 10mins up Victoria Road to the Old Town. Preferable to staying in a hotel, I would say.
