Lovely family-run hotel close to historic downtown and plenty of restaurants and other local destinations. Fernie has made a successful transition from a mining town to a destination outdoor recreation center (biking, skiing, climbing, fishing, etc.). Its historic main street has a good variety of small, locally owned businesses with good food and drink, sports shops, and general retail. The people are friendly and very helpful.

took a walk downtown Fernie where there are some nice little shops and very friendly folks operating them. had a great meal at the Brick House... definitely much more than i expected going into what is billed as a Pub and Grill.

    We loved the whole experience.

We loved the whole experience. The skiing, of course, is always fantastic, but so was Griz Days (the whole town gets involved). We also attended a sold out Ghostriders playoff game that was really electric and enjoyed some of Fernie's food/restaurant offerings that really compete with the calibre you'd get in any large city.

Fernie has great and plenty of accommodations but with many many construction workers and it being summer I would highly recommend booking far in advance of your stay. The Hostel is rough and the basic of amenities in the room. Take your own towels. Sounds outrageous but we weren't offered towels, what services were available, or offered anything other than the room at check in. I have stayed in hostels that were quite comfortable but I would never recommend the Raging Elk to anyone. There were no rooms available except this place . We had business in Fernie otherwise we would have carried on to Cranbrook.

Fernie is a great little town.

Fernie is a great little town. I liked the shops as they were unique and offered different options. Also liked buying items that were made locally. The mountain view was amazing, loved how the mountains surrounded the town. The bagel shop food was great. I loved the chocolate shop as the chocolate was made locally which is why I made a purchase there. Some of the clothing in stores were very pricey, seemed to be good quality though. Very friendly service experience everywhere I shopped.

    We loved this town!

We loved this town! Like Telluride without the pretense and movie stars. And way more affordable! Snow Valley Lodge is amazing with great rooms and tiny houses too... although they were booked. I forgot an item and they saved it for me. Friendly and beautiful town! And the beer is really good too!

The ski in ski out of the hotel. The jacuzzi area was well maintained and we were able to enjoy them every day after skiing to relax. We used the lobby area for a friendly dinner and it was clean, big enough for 22 people and the bbq was handy right outside. The ski service and store located in the hotel were awesome, provided service for our skies overnight, well priced, and high quality. In the room, the kitchen was all equipped so it was easy for us to prepare breakfast and dinner.

very comfortable rooms on the main highway, but not noisy at all. This looks like an old motel that has been renovated and is really nice, not many this nice in Fernie! I loved the spa and sauna a great way to finish the day or pass the time if its too cold outside. Loved the views from the room of the mountains. I used the free bike hire, it was so easy to get around town by bike since its very flat. Riding to Tim Horton's and the new Wendy's was a highlight!

i had sent my husband on a work trip and sent him the wrong card for the hotel. when I realized my mistake I called the hotel and the gent at the desk was amazing! stayed on the phone while I completed a payment form for him to process. took a massive amount of stress out of a situation I caused. my husband spent 12 hours travelling and got there late they had him checked in and inside his room is less then 5 mins! amazing.

Everything! The room was great, immaculate, well decorated, very comfortable bed, treats for the dog - everything we needed and more. Inexpensive and we were treated exceptionally well, as was our new puppy who received a gift bag of treats from a local pet shop. My friend works for Fairmont and was so surprised at how great Snow Valley Lodging was. Great location in Fernie too, 100% recommend.

We we unadvised when we booked the trip in a hurry and didn’t see needing to be 25 years old as we where all 20 they would not allow us into the place and still charged us the full amount of 1500$ that was total loss and had to secure another place to stay since this was not an issue until we arrived in fernie to find out we payed for a place that sat empty from the 21st-24th of February

Property was awesome for a family! More space than a hotel (our kids didn’t have to share a bed) as well as having a kitchen to eat breakfast and lunch in, a living room to relax in and a 2nd bathroom. The property was very homey. Had 2 TVs with cable and Netflix etc as well as games, books, puzzles etc. Was WAY better than staying in a hotel with a family.

I booked a couple of pods for myself and a friend to spend the weekend mountain biking in Fernie. The pods were super neat, I really enjoyed the lockable cubby where I could store my things, the dimmable lights and mirror were a great touch. The bar on site was an awesome spot to grab a pint and enjoy some live music.

Everything! From the magnificent view of the Canadian Rockies, the room with a loft the boys liked, to its accessibility to the Fernie Alpine Resort ski hills, and the friendly staff. 😊 We didn't know there was an indoor pool with waterslide otherwise we would have brought along our swimming gear!

Great spot in the Fernie area. Right at the base of the mountain. We were there in summer and you can catch the chair lift up for mountain biking right outside your door. Comfy bed and full kitchen which is a nice thing to have. Host accommodated our request for an early check in which was nice.

We got a corner room in a separate building and enjoyed peace and great neighbourhood for walking our dogs. There is also a pizza booth nearby that I would recommend. The hotel itself is not brand new but tidy and rooms have decent size with everything you need. We would love to come back.

The breakfast was good and I was happy that they had almond milk as an option! The rooms were clean. I liked that it was very close to the ski hill. Overall the hotel is pretty nice but could probably be updated a bit/renovated with the prices they charge.
