The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.
Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.
To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.
From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.
In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.
NOLA comes with superb french district night-out. Restaurants and clubs are chock-full with jazz bands all night long. Prices aren't economical, but it's worth spending few nights in the vintage district as it is like taking a journey to the past with timeless architectural features. Don't miss out a daily tour in the swamp just reasonable miles off the city or a plantation tour. Both come with impressive natural flora and fauna as well as awareness of recent history raising plenty of questions.

In-town for Jazz Festival (May 2-7, 2024).
In-town for Jazz Festival (May 2-7, 2024). Highly recommend this event. Enjoyed NOLA overall. Felt safe and comfortable at all hours of day and night. Friendly people. Good southern hospitality.
The French Quarter has a lot to offer. Almost continuous music by world-class musicians both on the street and inside venues. Frenchman's Street is a good music destination, in many ways better than Bourbon Street. Most venues have no cover-charge.
Jackson Square is very historic and well maintained, as is the RC Cathedral at the square. Countless excellent restaurants. City is very walkable and fairly easy to get around in.
Washington Square and Armstrong Park are both nice quiet and safe refuges from the hustle and action of the Quarter.

Something for everyone.
Something for everyone. This was a friends trip with six of us, so various interests. Walking tours, Art Museum, Bourbon Street at night, Plantation and Swamp tours. We stayed in Mid City, so quiet and only three blocks from streetcar (which was easy to use) stop to the French Quarter.

Pleasantly surprised.
Pleasantly surprised. The city was full of history and things to do. Music filled the streets of the French quarter and there are a lot of things to do. I would definitely recommend the World War II museum, Sea Aquarium, Oak Valley Plantation tour and night ghost tours. I would definitely go again.
This is a well located and very beautiful property. Having a small fridge in the room and access to a microwave oven really helped my somewhat long stay in New Orleans. I only needed to walk one block and I had access to a streetcar that would take me downtown and the French Quarter. The staff there was friendly and very helpful in getting me checked in and out during strange hours. One employee waited over an hour past their shift to get me comfortably into my room upon my late arrival.
Spot was authentic.
The hideaway was so perfect for a new orleans visit and stay. Kitchen washer and dryer spectacular to have
The bed was comfy the space was awesome
We had 2 adults and 6 kids and all were cozy and comfortable.
Everything was near us French quarter burbon st etc
Loyd was great
We would love to stay here again and again or even own the property lol..
5 stars and above was the best first time experience of new orleans for my kids .. thanks Loyd
Prime location. Next door to a wendys & Popeyes chicken. So, if you're on a budget you can eat a decent meal for less.
Also, next door attached to the hotel is a fancy restaurant. Traditional New Orleans style. Its pricey but worth it. Staff are great. ALL OF THEM!! The rooms are clean. The beds were so comfortable! Pillows super soft! I will be back for sure!
Oh & the rail car is right outside the door of hotel. 10 mins to the french quarter.
Beautiful hotel - the decor and furnishings are very tasteful!
We really liked the location of this hotel, it's only a short walk to the French Quarter and that means you don't have to deal with outside crowd noise for the price of a 5 minute stroll. It's also the right side of the FQ to get to the Garden District.
The quality of the breakfast was very good indeed.
The staff were helpful and friendly when we spoke to them in-person.
Located very close to the French Quarter. The room is small, but very clean, and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is decent. There's a place to leave luggage... All this can be seen in many places, but at The Quisby staff is also absolutely amazing, and their attitude to guests complements the vibe of the city (creates it if you start your acquaintance with New Orleans from the hostel as we did).
Place D'Armes is in the perfect location close to everything in the French Quarter. One block from Jackson Square and one block from Bourbon Street. They have parking on site for a nominal charge, rooms are beautiful and comfortable. They have gorgeous courtyards and a lovely pool too. All of the staff was outstanding and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in New Orleans.
Andy at the front desk is fabulous. She is full of information in adventures as well as the history of the house and New Orleans. The location was excellent. 1 block from cable cars in between the Garden District and French Quarters. Food nearby & a drug store. The main house was nice. The parking is a lot right next door, which makes it easy. The lot is light up at night with a security camera.
The location is absolutely perfect, it is on a quiet street, 50 meters away from Bourbon street so you have everything on the French Quarter at a walking distance, even Frenchmen Street. The location is the best positive thing on the Hotel. Besides that, the hotel is super nice and it has good facilities, nice pool, nice play to have breakfast and a great bar on the corner with live music.
The hotel is really close to the city center and also the French Quarter (the most touristic area in New Orleans). It is also just a couple of blocks from a supermarket (Rouses), where we can buy almost anything we need regarding food and hygiene items. Bed and pillows were really comfortable at this room. Having a mini fridge in the room as well as a microwave was really useful.
This hotel couldn’t have been better for our trip to New Orleans. Free parking lot, 15 minute car rides from bourbon st, the French quarter, etc. We had a king balcony room & everything was impressing. Clean bathroom. Lonnie the bellman was amazing!! Amy at the front desk was super kind & helpful as well. When we come back, we will definitely be staying here again.
Staff excellent, very helpful. Hotel is a short walk from French Quarter and convention area, where my events were. Quiet room, good facility for getting work done in room, convenient parking just across street. This is a superb hotel for someone who wants access to all that New Orleans has but does not want to be right in the middle of it.
The location of this hotel is perfect. We attended the Sugarbowl and the hotel was in comfortable walking distance from the stadium, the riverfront, French Quarter, etc. There is an awesome breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet as well. This was our second stay at Drury and we will continue to choose this hotel when visiting New Orleans.
Wonderful property in a lovely part of New Orleans. Very close to Magazine Street which has plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as wonderful independent shops. Only a short walk to the streetcar stop to take you to the French Quarter. Rooms were fantastic, individually decorated and very large. Ours had a balcony which was lovely
This place was fantastic, and the staff were all very friendly. It was my girlfriend's first time in New Orleans and she really loved this friendly hotel, and being right on the edge of the French Quarter really made it a great spot to explore from
The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the attractions of the French Quarter. That might be the only reason for its 4-star rating. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is a bit disappointing.
Beautiful New Orleans style mansion, great location quiet and nearby French Quarter. Friendly staff. Minimal breakfast available. (Coffee, fruits and cereals)
Historic Hotel with a lot of ambiance. Hardwood Floors. 14 Ft Ceilings. Quiet location east of the French Quarter. The walk to nearby restaurants and music.
