Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, la Ferme de Thoudiere is situated in Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs. At the hotel, the rooms are fitted with a wardrobe and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. This is a hidden gem that I was so lucky to stumble upon. The property is just outside a small town and lovely and secluded. It is stately but has a really fun and modern vibe too which is not easy to pull off. The grounds are gorgeous and the room bright and spacious. The pool was warm and a very welcome relief from the heat. But the best part are the lovely ladies who run the Chateau. They could not have been more helpful and friendly to me, a solo Canadian who’s French is somewhat lacking! The food however deserves highlighting as it is incredible. Absolutely the best meal I had in France and served outside in the lovely ambiance of the garden. The food was extremely well prepared and so fresh, using local ingredients. And the price was amazing for such quality. All told this spot is a definite must see! Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

They both went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my group had a good stay. The couple stayed up late for us to get in to the property and they even offered to cook when we arrived at 2145. Instead we did the cliche thing and got a maccies which the host drove us too. They even did an exceptional spread in the morning and had homemade jams laid out from their farm, delicious. Would highly recommend them, not just for their kind hearts and patience. But also for the lovely facilities, location, jams and making me and my friends feel right at home. Merci beaucoup!
