Terrific people who went out of their way to make my stay an enjoyable one. I stayed in four other inns during this trip, and my stay at The Poacher was, by far, the nicest.

Located 5.8 km from Jane Austen's House Museum, White Hart offers 4-star accommodation in Alton and features a garden, a bar and barbecue facilities. The staff are amazing. We stayed there before a family wedding in a nearby venue. Jane is so friendly and approachable and knows what I meant when I said at the bar I'll have a large glass of wine , it was a large glass. On the morning of the wedding we could not get a taxi to the wedding venue. when the staff heard this straight away, they picked up the phone and called a number of taxi service until they found one who would take us. We are so grateful and would definitely stay here again
