It was our first trip to Crete and we wanted to find a representative place. Luck or inspiration was to choose Ikaros Suite, a small hotel managed by a very nice family. A modern, spacious hotel with new furniture, with all the facilities you need in a summer vacation: swimming pool, bar, restaurant with local specialties, relaxing atmosphere, good wi-fi free parking and a friendly staff ready to fulfill your wishes , speaking German and English. The restaurant is excellent, with local, authentic dishes - with natural ingredients from the family farm. The beach is a 2-minute walk away. We arrived very early in the morning, around 8 - but we were accommodated quite quickly, we didn't have to wait until after dinner. More than that - Katarina, the iron hand of the hotel :) - offered us a free breakfast from the house. When leaving, because we had a very early morning flight, we each received a package of food so that we wouldn't go hungry on the road. Thank you, Katarina. Thanks also to Yoorgos, he has a special reserve of excellent Cretan raki. My father-in-law was very happy for him. A place where you want to come back as soon as possible.

This place is a magical gem in a wonderful location. The staff is something else: they care for you like family, go above and beyond and make you really feel at home. On top of that, there’s wonderful rooms (including a very nice 2-bedroom bungalow that we stayed in, with garden), a pool, super tasty breakfast, parking, a big playground for kids and it’s just 1 minute from the beach and shops. Thank you for making us feel so at home and for the wonderful stay, we’ll be back!

1) la ubicación y vistas: justo enfrente de la playa (también es cierto que elegí -y pagué un poco de más- por una habitación con terraza y vistas frontales al mar). 2) las instalaciones... quizá no del hotel directamente, pero sí de alrededores: una gran solar al lado donde aparcar sin problemas, un restaurante con amplia terraza justo debajo, una zona con hamacas y sombrillas justo enfrente... 3) la habitación: amplia y espaciosa (también la terraza; cuenta con una pequeña cocina (poniendo una mesa y sillas, sería un estudio), bonita (techo de madera, paredes pintadas de azul)... y persiana en la puerta de la terraza. 4) y que ofreciese / tuviésemos desayuno. Y la propietaria, claro: trabaja directamente en recepción, regala (a todos los clientes) una pequeña botella con el aceite que hace su padre (muy bueno).

El hotel tiene una localización ideal, situado en un lugar tranquilo al lado de la playa, cerca de la parada del bus y también de Heraklion. Las habitaciones son muy grandes y el servicio de limpieza es excelente. Los dueños son personas muy agradables y hospitalarias, siempre disponibles para ayudar o resolver dudas.

The hotel was in a few minutes walk from Ammoudara beach, you only had to cross the street. if you left the hotel and turned right you were at a bus station and a few all-rounder shops. Really you had everthing you need. The breakfast had a wide range of options. Next to the hotel there was the pool they share with the restaurant. Both was very good and fully met my hopes. The gardens were also beautiful. I can only recommend.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood at the city's outskirts; not too far, not too close from the center (but much preferable for those that have visited Heraclion again). I really appreciated this site, despite my initial feeling that I would be kind of isolated. On top of this the rooms are truly apartments! More than spacious and clean, with a fully equipped kitchenette & private balcony with city view. The breakfast is served at a cosy coffee shop next to the reception - it is not a buffet but it is really nice and filling. The whole building smells wonderfully and there is daily cleaning service. My biggest rate and thanks would go to the stuff ♥ they are so friendly and always willing to offer tips, ideas and any kind of assistance. Thank you Petros and stuff for your excellent facilities and overall good vibe!
