We felt very welcome at a place that is special in many ways. High above the river, at the site and, in parts within the walls of an ancient Cistercian monastery, you have everything you would want as a traveller, with a host who seemingly enjoys what he is doing and goes to great lengths to make you feel at ease.

we want to thank Michele, the host, for our wonderful stay in her beautiful home. Michele is a great host with sense of humor and very good energy. Her energy put us already at ease, as if we were fruends for long time already. we felt at home. the bedroom was absolutely beautiful and perfectly cleaned. we felt that we were in 19th century with all the beautiful furniture full of charm. Mysthic athmosphere. The breakfast was so great, so good that we had breakfast and lunch at the same time ;) We can say that this stay was one of our favorites in our lives. And the big lake with swans in front of the house is beautiful beyond words. Michele thank you so much for receiving us with such a good energy and humour. It was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful and interesting place. The château and it’s grounds are pleasant and comfortable. It’s about a fifteen minute drive to the center of Angouleme, and I suspect a lot nicer than any of the alternatives there, especially as a base for exploring the region. The owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and the breakfasts, featuring home cooked dishes, often made from fruits grown on the property, were delicious. There is also a beautiful river a short walk away and two wonderful dogs. All in all one of the most enjoyable places we have ever stayed. And quite reasonably priced.

This is a charming property. The main house is a wonderfully well restored domaine / manor house. An excellent example of what is possible for all those who dream of restoring a period property in France. The gite / cottage we rented was delightful, full of charming period details yet well-appointed with all modern conveniences. We particularly liked the fireplace and the supply of dry wood. We lit the fire for atmosphere only – the central heating in all rooms was more than adequate. The staff are very friendly and went above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable. Parking is large, convenient and secure. It is very accessible if you are towing something such as a boat. In the main house do not miss the painting of Asterix the Gaul meeting Delacroix's Marianne at the barricades.
