This place is consistently great which is why we keep returning again and again. Stephanie has everything running to perfection. The location is brilliant for walking in the area. The accomodation itself has everything on the doorstep. Restaurant, pubs, breakfast cafe and the shops in the main street.

Located 23 km from MetroCentre, Duke of Wellington Inn offers 5-star accommodation in Corbridge and features a shared lounge, a bar and water sports facilities. The location in a tiny village of about 100 people was perfect - just beautiful! The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, and dinner the evening before was exceptional.

The Coach and Horses has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Hexham. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 34 km of MetroCentre. Awesome homely b&b. Firstly, not a hotel. This place is an old 3 story house, but don’t let that turn you away. The house is excellent. The breakfast is soooo tasty. Tasty fresh eggs, and great full English breakfast. Best we have had so far on our tour of England. The rooms are cozy, the king bed was the most comfortable bed we have had so far. The shower had good pressure, and was steaming hot. The towels are large, thick and fluffy. Only a 12 minute walk to the city walls, it was great to get our ‘’steps’’ in. 🙂. The owner/manager was very accomodating and friendly. We parked on-site. A bit of a squeeze, but no complaints. The room we had was a king supreme room on the top floor. It was super quiet, and we had the best sleep so far on our road trip.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Hotspur House provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Stunning property in a fabulous location. Liz is a superb host. Absolutely faultless.

Bird In Bush Elsdon features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Elsdon. 38 km from Alnwick Castle and 48 km from St James' Park, the property provides a bar and barbecue facilities. The food was excellent, the shower was hot with pressure and the bed was comfortable.

Set in Gilsland and only 2.7 km from Thirlwall Castle, Dacre House, Gilsland offers accommodation with river views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything! This is a gorgeous, extremely clean, comfortable, and well provisioned accommodation perfect for Hadrian’s Wall. The food is AMAZING. Honestly some of the tastiest home cooking you’ll find with a packed lunch that’s second to none. Clare is a wonderful host and made me feel so welcome. I loved staying here.

Situated in Seahouses and only 600 metres from Seahouses North Beach, Chandlers BnB features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Beautiful place, amazing location, very clean tidy and comfortable

Set in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, The Roxburgh Guest Accommodation is a recently renovated accommodation, 300 metres from Spittal Beach and 3 km from Cocklawburn Beach. A beautiful, well-kept, modern hotel. They were very accommodating when we requested an early arrival. They use refillable bottles and jars for drinks, milk, and bathroom toiletries, which is great for the environment, reducing plastic waste. A small fridge was in the room for us to use. It contained milk and drinking water.

Situated in Ridsdale, 48 km from MetroCentre, The Gun at Ridsdale features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. very homey very warm very clean very calm

Situated in Alnwick, 200 metres from Alnwick Castle, Crux features accommodation with a bar, free WiFi, luggage storage space, and a housekeeping service. We literally traveled from the United States to specifically stay at this hotel. We are doing a two week Harry Potter trip with our children throughout Scotland and England and we’re specifically looking for a Harry Potter themed hotel. It did not disappoint. Harry Potter details EVERYWHERE. Magic EVERYWHERE. Staff- beyond kind. If you love Harry Potter you MUST stay here. Breakfast was large and delicious. We also ate dinner there both nights- fabulous. Drinks- super yum. Please note that both the chateaubriand dish and the T-bone steak dish is enough for at LEAST three people. Also, hotel is unmarked- the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, next to the ice cream shop, through the door to the “Dirty Bottle” bar. It’s located about 500 yards from Alnwick Castle- also a must do, just get tickets in advance (see pics of broom flying class- you can also make tile, soap, play medieval games- So fun!!).
