There was nothing not to like about our stay at La Tannerie. The welcome was brilliant, the facilities exceeded expectations with a clean and oh so comfortable room for our family. We were provided with a cot for our baby with no additional charge or fuss, and the breakfast was lovely and tailored to our specific requests (we were asked what we wanted from the boulangerie). The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the gardens were beautiful.

Old house tastefully modernised. The decoration of the room was beautiful - spacious with separate sitting room, toilet and bathroom. Thoughtful touches - welcome chocolate, coffee machine, water etc. The host has limited English but very communicative and obliging and friendly. Fantastic breakfast. Close to Medieval ramparts which completely encircles the town - lovely evening walk. Huge selection of cafes and restaurants nearby. Seemingly few tourists - for us a real bonus!

The apartment was in throwing distance of the citadel, market square and some lovely restaurants and churchs. If we had any questions the hosts were prompt and polite in their responses and were overall amazing hosts. We were very grateful for the lovely wine and chocolates they left as a welcoming gift.

The house is lovely. You can park right outside. The courtyard is a lovely space to sit once the baby had gone to bed. There is a toilet on the ground floor, en suite shower and sink to the front bedroom and an en-suite shower, bath and toilet on the top floor. You do have to go through one bedroom to get to the top floor staircase (the one with the sofa bed in the pictures). Wasn’t an issue for us as we were only three people but this may bother some. Location was good, about a 15 minute walk to the main square around the remparts. Host was very good with communication and the house is really well stocked.

Our little dog Molly was very happy and enjoyed her walks around the town centre and relaxing in the bar with Mummy and Daddy. Within a hour of the tunnel enabling a late afternoon crossing and early start driving through France, makes this an ideal first or last stop to your journey to and from our holiday homes in the south.

The hotel is in the centre of the village with restaurants and shops really close. The hotel bar was excellent too.

The furnishings and equipment were among the best of all the holiday homes we have rented in France. Our host, Olivier could not have been more helpful: he even carried our large suitcases, both at the same time, up and down the two flights of stairs (a total blessing for those not in the first flush of youth!) The building is an impressive former hospital or military convalescent home. The public rooms are large, impressive, high ceilinged. The bedrooms too are spacious and high ceilinged, far more so than in purpose built modern hotels. We have always found the staff friendly, efficient and welcoming. Secure parking (at €15 a night) is an added bonus. Montreuil itself is an interesting town and well worth visiting.
