Holmeshead Farm, allotjament vacacional a Ambleside

Holmeshead Farm features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Ambleside, 13 km from World of Beatrix Potter.

Holmeshead Farm B&B is a really good bed and breakfast – it is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the full English breakfast is both generous and delicious (Ed’s home-made sausages are amazing!) Just what is needed before a day’s walking the fells. Judith is a lovely host, very helpful with great suggestions about dining out and walking etc, yet she also leaves you to enjoy the peace and quiet too – perfect! The gardens are a beautiful quiet place to sit out and take in the views, and they are a haven for wildlife – lots of bird life, and even four spotted flycatchers – a special treat indeed for bird lovers. This is a lovely quiet place to stay, yet so near to several major locations such as Hawkshead and Ambleside, and it’s a brilliant location for anyone that likes walking – so many of the major fell walking areas are very short drives away. We’ll be booking again.

So well-kept! great location. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming even though we arrived much later than we originally planned. A really great breakfast with lots of choices, all fresh and delicious.

Everything. This place is absolutely, spotlessly clean, has very nice furnishings and bedding, the staff (especially Haley) is out of this world friendly and kind, and breakfast was delicious - made any way you wanted.

Our stay at High Grassings, Lake District Bed and Breakfast was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of breathtaking scenery, this charming B&B offered the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, providing personalized service that made us feel right at home. Each morning, we were greeted with a sumptuous breakfast that catered to all tastes, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The room was beautifully appointed, with attention to detail that ensured a luxurious and restful experience. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the views from our window were picturesque, offering a serene backdrop to our stay. The location was ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Lake District, with easy access to roads, trails and lakes. Tarn Hows was close by and simply quintessentially English countryside at its best! What truly set this B&B apart was the genuine care and hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable, providing insightful recommendations and thoughtful touches throughout our stay. David & Michelle May 2024.

Warm hospitality by the owners, Paul and Rachel. Thoughtful sumptuous breakfast. Spacious room with a great river and pasture view. Comfortable bed. Lots of trees and flowering plants in its 5-acre property. Our 3-night stay was very heavenly and relaxing. Pleasureable walking experience from village to village. Highly recommended for a 3~ 5 day Lake District experience.
