We booked last minute to stay and enjoy a fantastic dinner at Quinta de Sao Bernardo 1km away. The property and the family were adorable. They waited later dor us to arrive so they could greet us. The apartment is immaculate and they left us port and cake to try in the room. There is a coffee machine with capsules and a kicthen and fridge. You can park your car directly at the house too. It was such a suprise and warm hospitable feeling for our trip, we left an extra tip at the end. Thank you so much 😌🙏🍷

The view from this property was outstanding, looking out over the Douro River you could see a long ways in both directions. Breakfast was also fantastic, with good bread and jam as well as fresh fruit, ham and cheese. There was a swimming pool, but we didn’t use it. The common areas were very nice.

THE VIEW. It was incredible. I loved sitting on my private balcony sipping wine and looking out at the valley. This is a very small family-owned place with just a few rooms. The proprietors live in the building and are very kind and accommodating. They helped make a dinner reservation for me and made sure to have breakfast ready early because I needed to leave before the regular breakfast time. It's a really friendly place with a really special view and I definitely recommend staying.

The infinity pool was amazing. The friendly staff made us so welcome . The evening meal was awesome and so reasonably priced. This house was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend. The views were absolutely stunning. Joanna was the perfect host. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Quinta das Susandas is an amazing and recently renovated property in a beautiful and peaceful land, ideal for taking some break and rest from the city life. The rooms are spacious and have all the comforts you need. The staff is polite and gentle, always available and willing to make your stay enjoyable. We were welcomed by Marcelo - who is managing the family-owned property - in a very pleasant tour of the property, which included a taste of their own produced Porto wine (also available in the bedroom) and some tips on what to visit/do around. The property is located in a strategic position to explore the Douro region. The only regret is we stayed only one night.
