Beautiful artistic vibe of the place, stunning view of Sakurajima. Love the room decor and atmosphere of the whole building - was a little jarring at first, but the longer I was there, there more appreciative of the little details and the work rhats gone in. It was like staying in an art gallery.

Amami Weekly House Nico Nico Nazeko-ten is situated in Amami, within 2.8 km of Asani Beach and 7.1 km of Amami Marine Exhibition Hall. The property exceeded my expectations. Everything in the room was perfect. The room was spotless, everything looked brand new, the room was very very wide, the beds are very comfortable, and our room had a piano which we enjoyed playing. Most important, it is in the center of town with a drugstore across the street and dining less than five minutes away! Also, the owner made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again.

Situated in Yakushima, 12 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, 屋久の宿 たぐち features rooms with air conditioning. The hosts went above and beyond during my stay. They were so sweet and helpful! My stay was beautiful, clean, and calm.

Set within a few steps of Higashi Beach and 200 metres of Kaminoko Beach, Guest room Halemakana offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. Perfect location and clean room at a very good price. Hospitable host. Shared bathroom but brand new and there are only two other guest rooms, so you never wait long. Room is large with ocean view.

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 19 km from Ebino Plateau. We spent great moments here. Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

Located in Kirishima and only 9.2 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine, Kirishima Momijidani Seiryuso provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The place is truly authentic, ppl may describe it as old but it's can't be more wrong. I would describe it as rustic and serene, especially with the river beside it. Yes!! A running river, not much of a great sight but the sound of flowing water bring peace to your soul. Also, there's a private and excusive onsen beside the river, you just have to reserve it. Now to the most important aspect, the staff of Seiryuso.The hotel manager, Kajiki san set the benchmark for top notch hospitality. He has a bubbling personality, always giving out good vibes and positive energy. Always ready to serve and provide service. Always service with a smile.😊😊😊. Well, Japanese are known to provide great service but this is a whole other level. A special shout-out to the restaurant crew, specifically the service staff, didn't manage to get all their names other than matsuyi san. Kudos to the other gentlemen that provided the service.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. Staying in this beautiful, comfortable, rustic riverside guest house was one of the most notable moments of my whole travels. The lady that runs it is the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Yakushima and the Jomonsugi hike. The rooms are comfortable and clean as those of any ryokan, and there are large onsen style baths free to use. You absolutely MUST stay here if you plan on staying anywhere on the island. Its worth every yen.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. There is only 1 main accommodation area and the house has high roof, so it feels very open and spacious for me. Well ventilated with plenty of fresh air and natural light. I loved the feel of a wooden Japanese house. Everything was very clean and cozy. Loved the outdoor kitchen, lovely outdoor cooking experience; and outdoor areas, makes it easy to dry up after a rainy hiking day. The home is well equipped with racks and amenities (washing clothes, cooking). The host was so warm and caring, she checked in with you to provide necessary information on getting around and visiting Yakushima. Ask her about the meaning of the name Tomarigi, it’s very sweet. Thank you so much for my comfortable and close-to-nature stay, I had an amazing time!
