A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. Public transport is not so expensive, always on time and great connection to Salzburg center. Breakfast was delicious, with large selection and very good coffee, pastries, bread and jams and everything you need in the morning. The staff was super friendly! The room was cleaned daily. There are free parking spots.

The hotel is located in a quiet area on the edge of the town but the bus stop is just outside of the hotel so it's very convenient for exploring the city.
