The ideal location for a quick recovery after a day at work or after a busy walk around the neighborhood. A new and pleasant spa area with terraces for relaxing with breathtaking views of the Traunsee. Beautiful private beach, nice restaurant. A wonderful room (however, without a kettle, tea and coffee, as well as without skin moisturizers, without hygiene kits in the bathroom at all, which is a bit unexpected for a hotel of this level). Except for the noted moments, it is ideal, even if you are without a car: a taxi to the center of Gmunden costs 15 euros, you need to order a taxi either the day before or 1 hour before the planned departure.

Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

If you are looking for a sterile soulless hotel room with a bed chair and shower this is not for you. But if you want a true Austrian experience in a warm and cosy apartment you have found it. A family-run hotel with very good food and comfortable rooms overlooking the lake. You feel the atmosphere of a place managed for years by the Grunberg family. It is a pleasure to return here. Close to the lake and the lifts to the mountains. Like the whole lake area an excellent holiday destination. Recommended for motorcyclists!
