Friendly staff who provided excellent suggestions for sightseeing. The breakfast, although at first looked small, had a great selection of items (e.g. smoked salmon) including fresh fruit and six types of cereal! Should have stayed longer than two nights. Will return.

The Abbey is extraordinary and the surroundings are wonderful. The city is a whole story, full of a preserved history with great attention to detail. Very professional.
Was easy to get around, no problems. We think to plan another trip to Melk in the near future.

Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour. We also enjoyed the old downtown and all the sites and stores. We were there during the Christmas holiday break so some stores and restaurants were closed but that did no deter us. Would like to visit in the spring and summer.

We only had to spend a Friday night in Melk but once arrived (although pretty late), we got out to take a walk. We were impressed by the tranquility of the old town's city center and had a very nice dinner at Venezzia Restaurant (if you don't have to, don't go to the bathroom there :)). We'll be back to visit the Abbey!

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see.
Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see. The town is very pretty and a great place to wander around for an hour or two. There were some nice restaurants and bars, but many places were closed for the season (January). You can see the abbey and town in an afternoon, but there are other places in the surrounding countryside if you stay longer.

Stopped overnight at Melk to visit the Abbey and it was well worth it. Lovely old town with cobblestone streets and a great atmosphere, but the guided tour of Melk Abbey was the fantastic highlight. Saw Durnstein on the way and Schallaberg Castle on the way back to Vienna - both also well worth stopping.
The price/value ratio of this place is amazing. The receptionist was super friendly, beds were really comfy, and it was very quiet so we had a great night sleep! The location is perfect, we were in the middle of Melk, could walk everywhere. I was really surprised and the pension exceeded my expectations for sure! Sure, it's a bit older, and not the best design, but what would anyone expect for this amazing price?
Superb location, one flight of steps down to the main street in the old city and easy five minute walk from the free parking lot. Rooms were very modern in a lovely old building and were super clean, comfortable, large shower and basic kitchen and all worked well. Short term parking in front of hotel for luggage quick drop nowhere near as daunting as some reviews suggest.
Convenient and modern apartment just a few steps away from the town hall and the main pedestrian road in Melk.
The host was responsive and kind.
Getting with the car required a drive through narrow streets, but the host shared very accurate instructions and it was good to have an option to stop by the building to take out the luggages.
Rathauskeller Melk is a great property in the historic Melk area. All staff provide great customer service. My room was well furnished, comfortable, and bright with strong WiFi signal. The climate control was excellent. The bathroom was modern. The restaurant is excellent. I stayed for four nights and would recommend visiting here.
Location was great and near the Abby. We really enjoyed our visit to the Abby. Dilan was so helpful and accommodating. She arranged for a van to take our family from Melk to Mauthausen to see the concentration camp. They served a fantastic traditional Austrian breakfast that my whole family of seven enjoyed. Would highly recommend!
Mr. Berger the wonderful Man in Charge waited two hours when my train was delayed to let me in. He helped me when I had problems with another booking. Melk was one if the most wonderful travel experiences!!! Ask about his homegrown Grape Juice! Its Divine Nectar!!!
The hotel is perfect: clean, nice rooms, with a 'family' and local touch, great breakfast, and in the middle of the town. The abbey, the main sightseeing of this town, is just around the corner. And what beautiful views, from the Wachau, Donau, the abbey, its garden...
Staff were friendly. The location was excellent and the room was warm, cosy, comfortable and clean. I travelled with my dog and the hotel and cafe has a very dog friendly attitude. The breakfast buffet was well stocked.
Great accomodation in the center of Melk, just five minutes of walk from the Abbey. The apartament is huge and well equipped. Modern furniture, nice view, a lot of space. You will feel at home.
Nice location, well equiped appartment, spacious bathroom, possibility to use calm garden.
Close to the centre, walking distance to Melk abbey and river cruises.
