Arkaroola is an epic remote 'outback' location.
Arkaroola is an epic remote 'outback' location. The geology, history, fauna, flora ... alongside the simply awesome scenery ... make it a simple wonderful holiday destination.
We bounced between tours, sleeping late and relaxing, and hikes in area, during our four nights. We're currently planning our next visit.

Plenty of 4WD tracks with great views.
Plenty of 4WD tracks with great views. Restaurant was excellent for a dinner after lot of driving. They have good maps and everywhere is sign posted so almost impossible to get loss. May need to think about carrying couple of spare wheels or at least an additional tire.

A private wilderness adjacent to the Gammon Ranges National Park. Noted for its arid mountain landscapes, rock waterholes, yellow-footed rock wallabies, geological formations, minerals, off-road vehicle tracks and excursions. A cloudy night precluded star gazing and a visit to one of their telescopes observatories. ,

Arkaroola is very nice nature wise but the facilities there are dreadful. There was no food in the store....no gas in the BBQ, the room was an upmarket room and was seriously dirty and old...we were supposed to stay 3 days but we left after 1 day. If we had not brought some food with us we would have starved!! It probably was like this as they were coming out of the low season and hadn't cleaned up the joint yet but they should never have advertised rooms and accommodation when the facilities were so so very bad. Booking.com should take them off the site!

Its a beautiful place to adventure.
Its a beautiful place to adventure. Great walks and tours to be had. We were only there 2 days and had a lovely time. We also did the Acacia Walk which is beautiful. Did some driving around to the various mines and other points of interest. Most easy driving but still glad we had a 4WD. Did the star grazing tour which is very informative. The only down side was on our night too much moon but that is something you cant do much about. The accommodation is basic but has pretty much all you need. The restaurant serves lovely meals.
