Accommodation is very good and comfortable but far from Dungog although we were there to have a concert so not much time to explore the surroundings.

I was only in Dungog for a couple of nights for a wedding so my knowledge of the area is almost nil. The Tall Timbers Motel has plenty of information available to guests for those interested in local nature walks, history and places for the best views. I wasn't interested in any of these things as there wasn't enough time. Given the chance and time I would have looked at these, but I am content with the friendly locals that I encountered along the way.

Dungog is a nice place to stay overnight, or even a couple of nights. This is an historic town which can be explored further should you wish. The locals are friendly and there are good places to eat. Well worth a walk around and explore.

Dungog is by far, the friendliest Town I have ever visited!
Dungog is by far, the friendliest Town I have ever visited! We enjoyed our stay by visiting the Commons, taking an early stroll down to the Williams River and along the railroad. We ate and drank at some classic country venues and loved a special dinner at Stella Bistro! The coffee and bacon’n’egg rolls at the little cafe, next to The Royal, was fantastic, as was the friendly service. We had a fun night at the RSL and enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Settlers Arms. I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday weekend in Dungog, next time I might bring the kids and bikes. There’s some great mountain bike tracks that I’d love to check out. Dungog, done good!

Dungog is a nice little town in the Hunter, not far from some wonderful forests and rivers. It has many scenic places within striking distance, and is not far from the vineyard area and Newcastle, as well as being close to other small historic towns such as Stroud.

Beautiful town with lots of character.
Beautiful town with lots of character. Wonderful to see that this town has kept many old buildings which adds to the charm and welcoming nature, and loved how there are informative plaques in front of the buildings in regard to its history. A lovely stroll in the main street is highly recommended. Will certainly return. Took advantage of the stay and went for a day walk in the Barrington Tops National Park.
