We were only overnighting there, so all we did was take a short beach walk at Flying Fish Point,
& eat Fish & Chips & salad very close to our van park, which was a very mediocre meal, I might add!

I booked three cabins for my family.
I booked three cabins for my family. Cabin 24's cooktop did not even work so I had to cook in my cabin. And the toilet bowl was dirty and stained and their was no toiletries provided (soap, shampoo, conditioner or body wash).
Cabin 42 was just passable with the only complaint was the blankets smelt of urine.
Cabin 1 was a bit modern but found that the bed linen and the mattress protector had stain spots and the florescent light in the lounge area did not work. Never again.

A busy Sugar Plantation town on the Bruce Hwy A1 National Hwy, on a wide slow flowing river. Was formerly a prosperous town, this is evident by the Art Deco style Banks, Courthouse, Library and former dance Halls in the beautiful town on the Johnstone River. Could have stayed longer, country folk have time and are very friendly to all travellers who enter their patch.

The swimming enclosed area at Etty Bay great, Finding your way around town not good for a small town, Design of town rather silly No free tennis courts, Needs a cafe similar to Majestic Cafe in Ingham, Great little town mostly. In flood areas houses should be high set.

Nice to walk the streets and see the Art Deco style from an adult’s view. I never appreciated it as a child when I came with my Dad on business trips. Popped into the Chinese temple. Lots of great gift shops to start buying Christmas gifts. A coffee opposite a Fitzgerald Esplanade was also lovely after reading all the historical info along the river edge. Etty Bay was great for lunch. And to see a Cassowary.
The caravan park is well out of Innisfail and popular with fishermen, however it is quiet and leafy .The cabin was a bit worn but did supply a large fridge - always appreciated - air conditioning and a ceiling fan . It had excellent lighting with good bedside reading lights. The bed was comfortable but didnt provide extra pillows . An inside table n chairs as well as another set on a sunny patio. A small stove ( no oven) a M / W , and adequate supply of crockery n cutlery . Small ensuite.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Barrier Reef Motel, Innisfail. And I felt compelled to share my positive experience, particularly regarding the outstanding service provided by the gentleman at the reception.
Handled my check in swiftly. Made me feel valued as a guest.
The room was clean, Comfortable, and well maintained.
The amenities provided added value to my stay.
I would not hesitate to recommend this motel to others.
This renovated late 1920’s home has a cool vibe, and is comfortable and clean for a relaxed stay. We liked the back patio table, and the inside dining and lounge furniture.
Avalon is also walking distance to Innisfail CBD, so you just have to walk across the bridge for dinner if you don’t feel like cooking.
A simple older style motor inn located close to the centre of Innisfail. Was good value for money. The reception and help was great - advice on local restaurants, given it was a Sunday night, was very helpful. Fish & chips from the food truck at the harbour was excellent!
Food in the restaurant was good, and there was off-street parking at back of hotel.
We asked for a room at rear part of the building to reduce noise from Bruce Hwy, and we did get it.
Bed was ok, and sheets were clean.
The Black Marlin Motel is close to Innisfail CBD.
The motel is clean and located in a quiet part of the Innisfail CBD.
If I have to rate the motel I will give the Black Marlin Motel ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️ (5 STAR RATE) 🙂
The responsiveness of the staff, cleanliness of the room, and security of all areas of the premises. A wonderful new addition to Innisfail providing quality food & accomodation.
