Jabiru is remote, very little services but perfect for an Outback Experience especially in wet season. Bring strong fly repellant (deet 80+). Petrol station has an excellent stock of most everything, but bring fresh food items if you need them, esky recommended too to save on $ buying too much. Storms were epic, Croc Mercure worth the stay for air cond, pool and service. Sunrise by the lake beautiful as well.

We really enjoyed the Yellow Water cruise at Cooinda it was well worth it. We seen water buffaloes, plenty of crocs and heaps of different birds. It was really interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable.

The rock art was interesting along with the Aboriginal art on display at the hotel. The rivers are teeming with birds and crocs. The journey from Darwin was rather monotonous with little change in the scenery.

Jabiru is a great base for exploring Kakadu.
Jabiru is a great base for exploring Kakadu. I absolutely recommend doing the Yellow Waters sunset cruise one evening and if possible check out Cooinda and the excellent Cultural Centre while you're down that way, visit Ubirr on another evening and attend the free ranger-guided walks, drop in at Nourlangie Rock and check out the art galleries there, head up to Cahills Crossing if you have time - everything is very spread out but within an hour's drive of Jabiru.
Jabiru itself has an excellent Foodtown supermarket which sells cooked food and coffees and a good petrol station too.

it was nice to have a break at the crocodile hotel for a coffee or lunch break.Town has an IGA supermarket if you need to stock up. Also there is mobile reception. Other than that there is nothing to see or do, except for a cafe and art centre

conveniently located for exploring Kakadu national park.
conveniently located for exploring Kakadu national park. rooms were a good size and beds were comfortable but the bathrooms need upgrading and the lighting was poor. staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. dining options were limited but it is a remote location.
We opted for this resort over staying at Jabiru and so pleased we made the choice. Quite a little oasis and a very comfortable place for our overnight stay. We had one of the cabins and ate at the restaurant and were very happy with both, particularly give kits where we were.
Big call out to the team at the reception who were really helpful changing some bookings for us.
Superb swimming pool and pool side bar and bistro. Air conditioned rooms with ceiling fans, bar fridge and kettle. It's no five star hotel but perfect for your outback stay after a long hot day of exploring. Friendly staff and small shop on site stocking the basics. I think wifi was available for purchase but I had 4g internet on my phone.
The hotel is in a great location and will enable you to explore Kakadu from a central position. We stayed 2 nights and covered everything we wanted to do. But would recommend 3 nights in order to make it a more leisurely stay so you can take advantage of the pool, etc. The hotel provides a good buffet dinner and buffet breakfast.
Cooinda Lodge is definitely the place to stay in Kakadu as there isn't much around. The staff was great, particularly Cody who gave us some pointers about birding, even for the Gouldian Finch in Darwin. The restaurant was great. The pool was very refreshing! The ceiling fan really helped to make you feel cooler.
Not much. Poor service. Property unkempt. Towels in room were threadbare. No value for money. Staff at restaurant were rude. Food shop had no stock of food. Poorly run hotel. Lack of tourist information. No internet. Hopeless. Would like a refund. Staff at front desk not informative.
Loved the whole trip and the location is so central to everything. Pool is lovely, staff friendly and helpful. Quiet and gardens around cabins are cool and peaceful. Worth the money, it is a lot but once you understand Jabiru it makes sense. Happy to support this beautiful town.
The property had everything you needed from food, petrol, tours, swimming pools.
Lodge room was comfortable and clean.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Yellow water tour right on doorstep, better location to stay than jabiru in my opinion for exploring Kakadu.
this is a great place to stay with family. terrific pool, very comfortable rooms, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. there is only one restaurant open though but there are bbq facilities where you can cook and a big food land in jabiru.
I really liked the location of the accomodation. It's tugged away in Jabiru, Kakadu Nationalpark. Also, the facility itself is quite nice, especially the pool area.
The iconic shape of the crocodile, the reception area, gift shop and art gallery, the friendly helpful staff, the pool area. The comfy beds and seating area.
