There wasnt a bakery that sold sandwiches so went to a cafe in the main street but it was too busy and werent able to stay for lunch. We ended up having lunch at Subway which was a good meal in itself. We enjoyed Lake McIntye which is must see for other visitors to Millicent. We also enjoyed a fine dining experience at the Muyura Station. And yes it was easy to get around Millicent. We even took a drive to Mount Gambier for lunch and a walk around the Blue Lake which was very enjoyable day. The Information Centre is also a must visit and the staff were very helpful and informative on places to visit in Millicent and the surrounding areas.

i went to school in Millicent and this motel was once considered the best in the southeast, unfortunately, the money has not been spent on upgrading, little things like new bathrooms, doors that open and close properly, old clock radios removed, switches by the beds that operate everything, phones in the rooms to notify reception, or talk with guests in other rooms, all things like this t6hat should be in 2023 establishments, don,t stay in the stone age as people expect more for 100 bucks plus a night, but your staff are great, sincerely john

A lovely, quiet country town that has enough hotels, restaurants, service stations and supermarkets for a tourist staying in Millicent; no need to travel to Mt Gambier for any facilities.
Millicent is also perfectly located between the Coonawarra wine region, Tantanoola caves and coastal towns such as Beachport and Southend.

Looks a jaded environment but the golf club and course are very worthwhile,
Indian Restaurant on George St (Heaven, I think is the name). Excellent food and great service. The Indian lady owner sure knows how to cook. We had the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Chicken Sagwalla and both were really good!! 😀😀!
Fast food outlet just along the street, I think the name was something like JATZ was very good. Quick service and good quality food and coffee.
The location of hotel was quite central, super clean room with every facility you need during the stay was available. There are plenty of parking spots availble to park 4WD. Icing on the cake was the management of the hotel. They were super kind and had very well understood our requirements as a family and treated us like their own family friends. They definitely had gone above and beyond to made our stay cosy and memorable. We felt like staying at our own home and looking forward to stay again.
Great location, great price, staff really friendly, the meals are great and not expensive, shared facilities were clean, I had no issues with the hot water. I like the heritage touches to the hotel, the old pictures on the walls and the period furniture. Thanks for a worthwhile stay in a nice little friendly town. I'm sure to be back.
I see how difficult is to run the historical hotel in today’s expectation. the staff and owners do their best to make the stay pleasant, and it feels good to experience the hotel from 1900.
Also I appreciated that I could park the motorbike in their shed instead of leaving it on the street
Cleaned each day (wasn't expecting that), I only booked an hour before I arrived and they were ready with keys. Wonder whether they owners could have a map of millicent to hand out to visitors and 'things to do' pamphlet as well. Plus early key box as left before it opened, really handy.
Convenient location, friendly hosts, stayed in pet friendly room and there is a nice lawned area for our dogs to run around on. Good hot shower, crockery & cutlery provided, comfortable lounge area. Have stayed here many times and it's our first option when we travel to Millicent.
Hotel was in main street. No tv or coffee in room but common room was right next door which was good. Meals were good and reasonable. Had pokies. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Nice balcony. Had free parking out the back.
Good location, 40mins away from a lot of tourist attractions such as Mt Gambier and Naracoorte. Theres also the biggest windfarm in australia in Millicent (tip given by the staff) that you should definitely check out.
