Staff were friendly. It looked like someone had urinated all over the elevator or spilt coffee during the night and when I brought it to their attention they quickly had it cleaned.

We enjoyed the waterfront parks and the Gord Downie pier.
We enjoyed the waterfront parks and the Gord Downie pier. Also there was some good outlet shopping and mall shopping. Since it was only late April, a number of attractions were not open yet. Also, most places were dog friendly and staff came out to say “bring your dog in”. But we would suggest signage indicating dog friendly or not. ( A simple sign on each entrance to malls, for example.). We had our own car, so easy to get around, and no problem to find parking.

Surprisingly there were a lot of very good and high end restaurants. I was not expecting it during April. The 1000 island cruise was ok but not really something that you “must do” or experience. Recommended you take the ferry to Wolf Island (free) just for the ride (stay on and don’t get off at Wolf Island). The walking track along the river was a highlight. The trolly car was also worthwhile. You get to see a lot of the old buildings on the tour. Kingston history is fascinating. You can also go and walk around the University as well.

Kingston carries itself with the poise of a bigger city while remaining relatively small. Lots of Gothic Revival architecture for the art nerds (I include myself on that list) and a friendly atmosphere made Kingston a fun visit. Also some really good bars and restaurants for a town of its size. A worthwhile visit if traveling between Montreal, Toronto, or Ottawa.

There are great walking trails along the waterfront and the downtown area was less than 10 minute walking distance and felt safe in the evening. The shops were varied and there were plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs to choose from.

It is a very walkabout city. Waterfront trail is a lovely place to stroll. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the downtown core. Lovely architecture in the old residential section. A few historical sites to visit, although open only seasonally.
Worth a visit

The city of Kingston is so littered with homeless peoples garbage everywhere spray paint on almost every corner and a general public are smoking so much carfentanol and enphetameins and if that isnt enough Kingston possessed no family values from city council on down and the cheif of police is responsible for nothing but a 460 million dollar budget and the university students acue one million in fines annually for their wild parties
We were close to downtown. The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The room was well stocked.
The tv was kind of small but it was ok. I liked having fridge and microwave. We didn't know there was breakfast if there was - not sure. It was a little more than what I wanted to pay but certainly less expensive that other places. Parking was a bonus. Free Wifi was good. Water and snacks in the lobby - nice touch. Lots of information on what to see and do in Kingston and surrounding areas.
It was better than I expected, as we have frequently stayed in dorms. We had two rooms (with a shared bathroom) for half the price of a modest hotel. The rooms were really well organized and clean with tons of storage space. There was quite a nice kitchen/lounge (although you have to bring your own plates/cutlery/cooking stuff. Free coffee in the morning and cold water (regular and soda!). Location, while not really close to downtown is walking distance and it is close to the waterfront.
This is my fourth visit this year!
Great staff, who are welcoming & helpful! Had a large room with very comfortable bed and cozy sheets! Lovely grounds!
Older establishment with period furniture and a “down home” feel!
Good breakfast!
Easy walking distance to all the sights and shopping of downtown Kingston and historic area!
Bed was VERY comfortable - firm but cushion top. Room was clean. Coffee and tea in room.
Although breakfast was bagged, there was an assortment of muffins, granola bars, different yogurts, 3 juices, fruit and fresh coffee.
Outdoor pool was closed but looked nice.
Only 5/10 mins from downtown Kingston.
We knew nothing about Kingston and were just looking for a stopover between Toronto and Montreal. Kingston is perfect - quieter and away from the bustle of the large cities. Parking was easy and the hotel charming. Very easy walking to the restaurants in town and then around the town to the shore.
This hotel is rated too low for what it is. Extremely clean and spacious room was newly renovated and it shows. Could not have asked for a better value for this city. Location was central to everything I needed to do while in Kingston and underground parking was a nice addition.
This hotel is marvelous, beautifully located in Kingston and the beds are REALLY comfortable . . . hard to get out.
Our room was on the waterside, which we asked for. The balcony had a screen door, so we could keep the glass door open all night, which was so appreciated.
I love the location of this venue. It’s quiet and peaceful and is surrounded by beautiful trees. Parking is rarely a problem.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the ladies who serve the breakfast.
This is my preferred hotel in the Kingston area.
Location was good, Easy access to downtown Kingston and also to go to Prince Edward country for day trip to the Sandbanks. The access to the water and the dock was nice for relaxing and reading. The front desk staff was friendly and pleasant.
The staff were so welcoming. Gina and May from the dining room are a absolutely wonderful, front desk staff were great and helpful to give directions to downtown. The hotel is kept spotless. Best we have ever stayed in.
Very soft and comfortable beds, I slept well. :)
If you are traveling by car, the hotel is close to the beautiful downtown.
There is a fridge in the room which was a big plus for us. :)
The location was good with easy access to downtown Kingston. The breakfast was good and very substantial. The host did her best to please us and we were comfortable enough.
Breakfast servers were genuine and attentive. Better than expected service for a buffet meal. Hotel was in a great location to be able to experience downtown Kingston.
The hotel is clean and nice. Nice rooms and breakfast. Free parking with a lot of space. Food Basic is 2 mins from hotel. Centre of Kingston is 10 mins drive.
Everything else was amazing, compared to hotels in Kingston that are more expensive, St Lawrence is way cleaner, more comfortable and in a great location
