The lake was lovely even though there was lots of algae to walk through at the shore. There was too many rocks along the shore that made it difficult to walk along the beach. If they had someone to maintain and clean up this small section of beach, it would be so much nicer. If you are going to the lake we recommend you go before 10am when there are less people and the water is clearer. The Manitou Spa and Pool was more expensive than expected. The pool is very relaxing and you can’t sink. It is well worth the time to visit. The ice cream at the Mini Mart near the shore is fantastic. Recommend the small as it is as big as most places medium and the medium is super large. The price is reasonable. Mikes Bar has a very old town atmosphere when you first walk in and the food is good, great value and the adult drinks are even better.

very good location - everything is in 1-2 minutes drive: grocery store, restaurant, gas stations, car washes. Close to Manitou Beach - less than 10 minutes drive. Very nice and attentive owners. Pepper Tree restaurant has a very attentive stuff, and great food! Ggreat beer too! Watrous Heritage Centre was only opened afternoons Thursday - Saturday, and we were there Wednesday, leaving Thursday morning, so were not able to visit. Danceland tour was great! There is an interesting Lutheran Church with historic windows. Many photo-ops while driving.

Nice Town with lots of options for dining, The big 3 vehicle dealerships are here with lots of vehicles to look at. Easy access to everything as the highway runs through the Town. Two convenience store that have almost everything you need.

The bakery has the best baked goods. Chen's Chinese restaurant had the best value for meals- buffet and other items including the best fish and chips. Homemade and huge portions. The other restaurants in town were a bit pricey but more upscale menu (steak, ribs). Nice, quiet little town. Very friendly.

What I liked the most was John's Plate steakHouse & Grill .... they make the best burgers. & chicken wings ,Good food quick service .and because this was quick trip I didn't see anything else I was only passing through.

Watrous is just minutes from Manitou Beach, where we were spending our days. The town should have a sign pointing a direction to the grocery store, since it isn’t on the main streets. It’s a very nice, friendly town.
