Our room was quite large. It felt awesome to freely move inside without bumping into furniture. The bathroom was indeed another nice surprise.

Beautiful rooms, they feel very cozy, you have a view on a fountain and the streets in the centre. I enjoyed observing the town life from the window. The café is also very nice, they have very tasty bio syrups and jams, and it seems to be a local hotspot. The location is perfect, very central. The toilet and bathroom are shared with 2 other rooms, but they were always clean. The staff is very friendly and sweet.
The Hotel Palafitte offers you individual luxury pavilions with breathtaking views of Lake Neuchâtel and the Alps, half of which are built on piles directly in the lake.

The room was surprisingly modern, with a small apartment-like kitchenette and shower stall but with preserved ceiling beams and quaint flooring. It’s well placed in the centre of town, accessible to the bus stop and other amenities.

It was an Amarcord thing for me, to re-visit the place where I used to live as a student in my twenties.
Lots of changes, I liked the old Swiss style.
Charming restaurants, plenty of café.
Very good but extremely expensive train system, buy your tickets well in advance.

The lakeside walk is beautiful, with Alps on the far side.
The lakeside walk is beautiful, with Alps on the far side. The architecture of the old Town is beautiful. There are grocery stores, pharmacies, gift shops, dress shops, cheese shops, chocolate shops, cafés and restaurants within very easy walking distance everywhere between the lake and the famous Collegiale where Reformer William Farrell once preached. The central Marché is an especially picturesque spot for a coffee or a meal at one of its many cafés. There is a funicular to Chaumont and its charming Petite Hotel which serves excellent food. Next to it is a zip line fun park for kids and playground for littles.
The Neuchâtel museum is worth a visit. 2 lakeside restaurants with outside eating are great: Beau Rivage and Waves. Boats to other towns around the 3 lakes are fun and easy to book.

Breakfast was great. Coffee in rooms was great.
Breakfast was great. Coffee in rooms was great. Sixth floor room/attic was horrible. Can’t stand up in 1/3 of the room, portable AC loud and vented through opening in the roof (let’s hot air in). Terrible room. Other five floors looked lovely. This was not a double. It was a mini double

Hotel near the lake and the museum of fine arts.
Hotel near the lake and the museum of fine arts. Finding a parking place was difficult when we arrived. Having a room just next to the breakfast restaurant is no ideal in the morning. Tourist discounts are useful.

If you like a small town feel without the tourist trap...
If you like a small town feel without the tourist trap feeling than this place is for you. Plenty of places to see and eat. Bus or short train trip will get you around to places including neighboring towns. Beautiful lake, lots of parks for peaceful walks. The saturday market in the center of town is fun to stroll through and stopping into the many specialty shops around town can take days.
Well located, modern inn, with a spacious room and a nice private bathroom (we rented the room with a private bath on the second floor). Mere steps from the action but with a more local feel. The Neuchátel tourist card awaited us on the bed so we did not need to ask for it. Coffee and tea are included, available in the room where they otherwise serve breakfast in the morning (which we did not try). Had everything we needed. Nice little pizzeria (Colonia Libera Italiana) on the street right behind it.
The apartment is large with a well stocked kitchen. There is a laundry room available in the basement. The wifi is good at least for streaming Netflix. Great views of the lake. The bus stop is a two-minute walk and takes 10-15 minutes to reach the town center. Included in the booking guests receive the Neuchâtel tourist pass which includes public transportation and many tourist activities. Lastly, the coffee machine makes an excellent brew!
The hotel is in a beautiful location….directly on the lake. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with directions and ideas for Neuchatel and La Chaud de Fonds. We had a small suite with a pull out sofa for our grandson. He said that is was quite comfortable but when opened it was difficult navigating around the room. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was varied and delicious. Underground parking was convenient.
Grand hotel of the lovingly designed type you can only find in Switzerland. Yes you could complain about a bit of deferred maintenance here and there but it’s part of the charms. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, great food in the restaurants. Very convenient parking both valet and a directly adjacent public parking garage are available. Excellent staff.
Very charming hotel with wooden beams on the ceiling, staff was kind and welcoming. Everything was clean and the equipment was good. Shower worked great and there were a few cosmetic products available in the bathroom. The hotel is next to the river with great view in the waterfall from the windiw. The watermill is worth a visit.
Great location on the lake of Neuchatel. Views of the Alps are always beautiful. Lot's of water activities like paddle boarding, kayaking are included in the price which is nice. A great little bar area along the water with some nice cocktails and wines to choose from.
Switzerland is usually quite expensive, but I think this kind of accommodation should be max 80 EUR. Hotel is in a nice location, quite close to the train station, so perfect for overnights. Breakfast was not included, but everything was clean and tidy.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel is also very central and one can reach the center of the town, the lake and the train station within minutes walking.
The location is perfect to visit Neuchatel. The rooms are very quiet. There was a huge party close-by and I was really scared I would not sleep but the windows are incredibly good to isolate from the noise.
I've been coming to this hotel on and off for a few years but this was my first visit after Covid. Aside from the addition of the Annexe, the hotel was much as I remembered it. Which is a good thing.
Have loved the room called Rubarbe for many years. So grateful it is mostly unchanged. The ceiling! The fireplace! The comfy green velvet armchairs and couch! The bar! (now kitchen)! The VIEW
immaculate modern hotel, with well equipped rooms and a great location; the Neuchâtel tourist ticket (provided for free by the hotel) was an excellent unexpected bonus; breakfast was good.
Breakfast was very delicious. Staff was very friendly. The hotel is situated on a very central place, not far from the beautiful lakeside. I could recommend this nice hotel very much.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean, but a little old. But it was definitely worth the price and the location of the hotel.
We will definitely come back.
This is an extremely cozy yet very interesting family hotel. The host is incredibly charming and made us delicious breakfast and allowed a late check-out.
A pearl of Neuchâtel.
