The owners were fantastic here, we arrived on a cold day and they straight away sat us down and gave us a hot coffee to warm up. Everyone during our stay were so nice. Really friendly place with an amazing location and view.

The property is in a magical place - old church walls, monk-like minimalistic rooms with beautiful wood craft and even hidden TV and a nice hot shower! Surrounded by nature, lots of gardens and cultivated herbs and vegetables! Not to forget the vineyards and aquafish culture! Makes home-grown meals! There is always something to explore and to connect spiritually with. Exudes calmness.
Set in Ramsen bei Stein am Rhein, this charming hotel is 12 mi away from the Rhine Falls. The restaurant serves characteristic Swiss cuisine and free Wi-Fi and free parking is available on site.

This hotel is a magnificent small hotel with a restaurant, very great meals, a separate lockable cycling room to keep you bicycle safe and sound.
Very quaint town along the Rhein river. Easy to drive to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls. Also easy access to the boats going up and down the river. We rented eBikes at River Bike in town, and there are some great bike paths (like Stein am Rhein to Diessenhofen which goes through a forest in Germany).

The evening we stayed in Stein am Rhein, they had a big fireworks display at the Rhein. This was really amazing to see, only drawback was that lots of people came to enjoy the fireworks, meaning parking in the town (and at our hotel) was impossible :).
This is a very old building in a great location in this historical town. Small but lovely single room with large window with shutters overlooking the street. Nice wet room shower and comfortable bed. Lots of towels. There was plenty of secure bike storage inc charging around the back of the hotel. Lovely garden to the rear to have a drink in in the evening. Adequate breakfast with a good choice.
Overall, a clean well-run hotel. The lady owner was lovely and spoke some English. For the price I thought it was good value as inc breakfast.
vintage boutique hotel with a personal touch all over it.. staff always smiling and genuinely serving.. clearly a wonderfully family run business.. perfect location with a great River view... room was quite large.. retro feel from such as old style phone, all well functioning and very special.. overall the hotel was a great representation of the very special Stein em Rein town.. definitely exceeded our expectation..
Hotel is on the Rhein, our window looked out on the water.
Facilities were excellent. Old bldg, but rooms and bathrooms were up todate. There was an elevator.
Dinner, at the hotel on the terrace next to the Rhein, was excellent.
Also within steps of main street in Stein am Rhein.
Parking was outside the walls, but just a couple minutes walking (wheeling suitcases).
Franz took great care of us, and made us feel very welcome into his house. The breakfast was very nice and set in a sun room with a small view of the Rhein River. The beds were very comfortable and the room had a nice balcony. We enjoyed the garden and it was only a 10 minute walk along the river into the center of Stein am Rhein. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the buffet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Rhein. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and spacious even with an extra bed for my daughter. The pillow menu is a great idea too. Loved the fitness area and playing table tennis. Loved the views and the pretty hotel grounds.
Breakfast has limited adequate selection...coffee is excellent. The view of the Rhein River from terrace is fabulous. So overall, a very positive breakfast experience. Wifi works best at the reception table near entrance. This hotel has an excellent location with large, clean rooms overlooking the Rhein.
The location was perfect for exploring Stein am Rhein and the area around. The self catering flat was cosy and spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful and had thoughtfully equipped the apartment and added some unexpected extras to help out before shopping.
We were thrilled to find the Hotel Adler. We could have stayed for much longer. Very welcoming hosts, delicious breakfast and a very comfortable room with a large bathroom. Recently renovated, it totally exceeded our expectations- and we look forward to returning.
The hotel was cute, well maintained, and the owner is very nice. The rooms were good size. We traveled with 2 kids and everything was very easy.
Breakfast was perfect for our needs. Breads, meat, cheese, eggs, cereal, coffee and juice.
Highly recommend.
This hotel is nicely located with a lovely terrace and garden to relax in. The breakfast had nice fresh bread and excellent coffee- a typical German breakfast well presented. The building is dated, but well kept and the host was very nice.
Second time in this Hotel and Ill keep going back!!
Location is prefect, comfort and service as well.
We arrived by bike and the hotel has a space to store it . If you have e bikes , you can charge it direct at the bike storage area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay at Schloss Freudenfels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner was fantastic, with great service. It is located in a very peaceful and serene area about 10 minutes from Stein Am Rhein.
The property was a perfect little apartment in a quiet neighbourhood in walking distance of the centre of Stein am Rhein. Comfortable beds and a decent little kitchen. The only thing missing was a microwave!
The room was spacious and beautiful. The hotel had interesting decor like armor sets and even a polar bear. The window looking out on the river was great. Loved having a mini fridge. Perfect location!
Very nice location in a beautiful town and area. Very organized and the facilities and services were exactly what we were looking for. Parking available over night right in front of the hotel.
Great Hotel in a perfect location to the old town. The staff were excellent and very helpful, particularly as German is not our first language. The hotel was clean and the food was excellent.
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The location was great, just a 10 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast is nice as well.
