Having camped for 6 days at the Nurburgring we needed...
Having camped for 6 days at the Nurburgring we needed somewhere to stay that had a hot shower, somewhere to eat and a bar. The Birgelhof had all 3. The room was basic but given how tired we where that was fine. The shower was hot however the shower fitment was falling out of the wall (room 8) Only after buying our first beers (around 6:45pm) were we told that the bar was closing at 8pm. We would have liked the bar to stay open for at least another 2 hours. The menu was simple but we both ordered home made Cordon Blue Schnitzels which were fantastic. They arrived with a massive portion of fries and a salad. Breakfast was typical European with bread rolls, meats, cheeses, fruits, fruit juice and coffee. The waitress/cook also made us scrambled eggs.

There is a well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a spacey living room with a smart tv and a bedroom with a big comfortable bed. Some interior items need a finishing touch. The host is very kind and Birgel is a good starting point for many hikes in the beautiful Eifel.
