The Hotel Burgklause, located in the middle of the town of Nickenich, appears bright and modern amid the characteristic dark slate of its neighboring buildings.

Great property, great on-site restaurant. Rooms have fans but no AC, no problem unless it is really hot.
Breakfast was top notch.

The location near the abbey is quite unique. The rooms are modern with a nespresso machine, a small fridge stocked with complimentary biers, water and cola, and the breakfast, in my opinion, is excellent. While they don't have a gym at the hotel, they do a peloton bike with a subscription that you can have delivered to your room for a workout. That's a great idea, especially when the weather is cold, dark and rainy.
