It's a lovely Black Forrest village near the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market- one of the most unique markets in Europe. Its a short drive or train ride to Titisee or Freiburg. We were there in December but there seemed to be quite a few summer activities and sights offered Overall, I enjoyed the relaxation and fresh forest air and atmosphere before a week adventure to Strasbourg, Baden Baden and on to Frankfurt. Made for a beautiful first stop on Christmas Market adventure.

Hinterzarten is a sleepy and quaint village in the Black Forest a walk through the forest away from more touristy spots like Titisee-Neustadt. I like visiting these places but returning to a lesser known village like Hinterzarten. Bus and trains easily take you around the area as well. We visited Freiburg for a day and then came back to this lovely village with a handful of wellness hotels and a few shops and restaurants. If you want a quiet stay where the focus is on wellness and nature, this is a great spot.nyounes1Switzerland - 10Scored 10
It's a great choice.
It's a great choice. Location in the Black Foest is such a plus, Hinterzartin is big enough to walk ar0und the town and eat out if you please. Hinterzarten is a beautiful village in the Black Forest with beautiful Chalet style houses. An ideal location to do as much or as little as you want. Oh and yes, a gorgeous bakers/café/cake shop!

It is just around the corner from the train station and close to anything you might need in this lovely place. I highly recommend Sonne Garni. The room was stunning, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice with a big selection. I loved my stay in Hinterzarten and Sonne Garni was the cherry on the top. But Hotel Sonne Garbo has made my trip in Hinterzarten so happy, that I wanted to stay in the hotel more, and feel sad leaving it. The owner has a great laugh and smile, she was very friendly. The breakfast was very delicious and cute, the owner gave me a table next to the window and I can have good view of garden. The room was very cute and has lots of details that makes your stay comfortable. I wish I could come back again some day!

She helped us get our luggage to the room and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a beautiful room with a balcony. The room was clean and spacious. The parking is also free which was so nice. They also have a wonderful breakfast with a ton of selections to choose from. It was the biggest buffet selection we have seen so far. We did not eat in the restaurant for dinner because it was a little expensive. The restaurant was beautiful!! I would definitely stay here again.TamieUnited States

Hinterzarten it's self is much better, bars , restaurants, cake shop much better, if your lucky you see the kids on the ski jump, the hotel is super clean and very well kept and very high quality but the decor is a little independent, that all adds to the charm.

A large apartment with its own separate entrance, this is a great value to enjoy Hinterzarten and the Black Forest with ski trails that go directly through the backyard. Would certainly stay here again!
