Schloss Purschenstein, hotel in Neuhausen

Set amid the beautiful landscapes of the Erzgebirge mountain range, this 4-star hotel in Neuhausen offers elegantly furnished rooms, a stylish restaurant and free high-speed internet access.

The property is beautiful - a well-renovated castle! Our room at the top of the tower was clean and spacious. The location is quiet, but a short distance by car to Seiffen, which we visited for the Christmas market and shopping for the traditional decorations of the region. While small, the spa area was pleasant. We encountered only a few other guests in the morning after breakfast. This area likely becomes busier during high tourist seasons and in the evenings. The breakfast was as you expect for most hotels offering continental breakfast. While apparently under-trained, most of the staff on property was friendly.

We stayed here because Seiffen was booked up.

We stayed here because Seiffen was booked up. Seiffen 6 km away. There was about 20 cm of new snow the day and night we arrived, the roads out of Seiffen are not fantastically sloughed. However, that wasn't an issue for us. Monday night the restaurant is closed so we couldn't test it, but we looked at it before checking out, very beautiful. Like something out of King Arthur times. We definitely want to come back.
