I have been in Nittel only in valley season.
I have been in Nittel only in valley season. And just for work in Luxembourg as is verzy convenient for that. I understand that in high season the Little town Will be very touristic and crowded, but currently is great

May weekend - or 1st weekend after May 1st sees the annual days of open cellars, where one may visit up to 14 different winemakers. Strolling through the town, sometimes up into the vines to it is possible to try the newly available wines, and to make the odd purchase for later collection. This town has become a renouned spot for good wine, one of the vintners even has been in the Gault Milleau for the last 10 or so years, naturally the reader will need to find this winmaker´s location his or herself, it would be unfair to the other winemakers to let on, as most are in the same quality range. I personally return here multiple times over the year, having made friends over the 20 or so years the town has been on my visit list.MarcusLuxembourg

There are a few restos near by and walkable where you can drink local wine. My recommendation would be the Apel resto. Very busy so please book in advance. This is a quite cheap self check in, no frills hotel. Had initial problems with one of the terminals but help in form of a friendly young Ukrainian was near. The rooms are about 20m2 and have an acceptable standard. TV only receives a handful channels.

If you have a car, there is a big parking lot. If you only plan to stay in Nittel for a day or two and otherwise you'd only use the room for sleeping, it's cheap. Wifi was okay.
