Luxor's archaeological sites are the most impressive I've ever seen. They are spectacular.
I went in April, in spring, and the temperature reached 38 degrees Celcius. The locals told me that in summer the temperature will be around 50 degrees.
The population appears to be very poor and the city is poorly maintained.

So much !
So much ! Magic Carpet Tours were excellent, organising a wonderful balloon ride, a dreamy sunset felucca trip to Banana Island, an amazing driver called Hassim who took me to the Valley of the KIngs, Hatshepsut's Temple, Karnak, Memnon Colossi, Temple of Luxor, and didn't hurry me at all. He drove me to Aswan the next day via Edfu and Kom Ombo. Luxor is fabulous, busy, lots of street sellers trying to get you buy or ride in their horse carriage, but a polite 'La Shukran' (no thank you) was fine and they are just making a living like the rest of us! Nefertiti Hotel was a peaceful sanctuary, and I would not have missed Luxor for the world. Personal highlights: Karnak Temples and Seti's tomb at the Valley of the Kings - awe-inspiring.

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing.
The temples and archaeological sites are amazing. But beware of many people in Luxor trying to get you on the horse and cart, boats, sell you stuff, and who follow you around trying to con you. Dont be duped into going to the "one day a week" market that is a bazaar/shop in a dirty back street. If you dont buy anything they will demand 1000EGP anyway. The souk (market) is ok, but the harassment to buy is too much. I felt very uncomfortable after 3 days and wanted to get out of there

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history.
Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history. Karnak & Luxor temple and Avenue of Sphinxes on East Bank of Nile & Valley of Kings/Artists, Hatshepsut temple, Medinet Habu, Deir-el-madina on the west bank are the places we visited during our stay.
We didn't eat out as it was Ramadan and we wanted to be discreet with food when travelling to the sites.
We hired a guide through Aswan individual to drive and explain the significance behind the places we visited and hence, unsure as to how to travel otherwise. Having a car would be better, as the sites are spread across the city, but a cycle would do just fine.
It is better to start early in Luxor as it tends to get hot as the day progresses. So, we did most of our trips from around 7 till 2 and rested in the afternoons.
We really enjoyed our time in Luxor.

Luxor is indeed a wonderful city with captivating historical sites. However, tourists should exercise caution when dealing with the locals. Some may be overly persistent, following you and invading your privacy in their attempts to receive money, even if they haven't provided any service or assistance. It's essential to remain vigilant and assert boundaries to ensure a pleasant experience while exploring this remarkable destination.
The hotel is very centrally located, right in front of Luxor Temple and the boulevard near the Nile. It also has the best Egyptian restaurant on their terrace where they serve local food such as camel meat and pigeon. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we've booked all our day trips through them (riding quads through the Sahara desert, sailing on a Felucca and Luxor Overday Trip) which were a success! We were given a spacious room with a small balcony and our own private bathroom. Definitely recommend this place!
The apartment was huge and nice, with a large terrasse with a view towards the nile! And the price is very low! In hindsight, I belive they could and should charge more for it. The host Taha is an exceptional nice guy, really focused on the guests well being. He even showed me the countryside with his motorbike. We opted for his offer with a personal driver, which was very nice and effective. Egyptian dinner at the hotel was fantastic. Do not think he is trying to rip you off, he is not. He is working hard for a living!
Luxor Palace was our favorite stay during our trip. We loved being close to fields and farm animals rather than the noise and commotion of the East Bank. It's a short walk and quick boat ride from the heart of the East Bank. The view from the rooftop was amazing - the Nile in one direction and the West Bank sites (like Hapshetsut's Temple) in the other. The breakfasts were always fresh and were the best we had in Egypt. The staff were very attentive to our needs and helped arrange our travel to and from the hotel.
We absolutely loved this hotel, more so than any other place we stayed in Egypt. Not only was the hotel extremely beautiful, but we were upgraded to a larger room for no additional cost and the hotel employees were extremely kind and understanding with early and late checkouts (they even made us a to-go breakfast!). Although the hotel is in a rural area of West Luxor, we had fun getting around in rickshaws or truck-beds and enjoyed soaking up the sun at the hotel’s lovely pool and gardens. Would definitely come back!
BEST HOSPITALITY I have received on this trip!Mr Ali was the best host, he treated me as one of his family members and gave me the comfort of being at my own home,he welcomed me with open arms and the warmest respect. Aside from Mr Ali himself, all the people who works in El Hanna Valley view is exceptional and great! Mr Hamdi who was my driver for one day, showed me the hospitality of an Egyptian. If I ever come back to Luxor, Egypt, this is the only place I would choose to live. Love from Malaysia! Shukran
It is a very cozy and clean place to stay at ✨
The staff are incredible, very friendly and generous management and hospitality 🙏
The rooftop is cool to chill with friends and make new friends if you are traveling solo
Unbeatable rate, the room has an AC, and even a small fridge and they provide a light Egyptian breakfast.. Not super near the touristy area so, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and markets with the local prices..
I highly recommend while in Luxor east bank. Thank you Happy Land :)
I am very satisfied with this hotel. It is clean, quite, with sufficient room, a balcony having Nile river and garden view. The food is good. The staff in rception and restaurant are very friendly and professional.
Especially I would like to mention Mahmaud and Mariam at reception area helped me to contact the hotel in Cario to have them pick me up from Cario International airport at later night, because my mobile phone did not work in Egypt and I am not familiar with Whatsup. Great thanks!
After a couple of days in Hurghada we came back to Luxor, because we enjoyed real Egyptian life much more than the resort. This time we stayed in House of Dreams, which was (again) above our expectations. The apartment is super clean and comfortable, the location is perfect. Sari was really nice and friendly, and Mohamed helped us with everything we needed (restaurant, boat to cross the Nile, etc.) We'll come back and also recommend the place for every friend who are interested in Luxor!
This lovely familyrun hotel is at the best possible location at Luxor west-bank. Close to everything you need as a traveller, but in a green and quiet setting in a traditional Egyptian village setting. The owners do everyting to make your stay enjoyable and always arrange for us to be picked up from the airport even if it is in the middle of the night. We just love the homy feeling of the place. The food is nice and the green courtyard and the swimmingpool were a real bonus for our stay.
The hotel host Hassen is so nice! He helped us solve all the problems in Luxor, he helped us arrange hot air balloon trips, and helped us arrange chartered cars. He can also help us exchange Egyptian pounds, take us to the souvenir shop, and help us bargain. When we left, they took us to eat local traditional food, and then sent us to the platform of the train station. All this moved us very much. If you travel to Luxor on your own, this hotel is definitely the first choice.
This is a perfect way to spend holidays in Egypt. You can see many remarkable sites: Abu Simbel, Edna, Luxor, ... without having to hop from hotel to hotel. And you can also relax on the upper deck, while taking in magnificent views. The Le Fayan boat is very nice, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can buy per-arranged excursions or plan your own through them or any other agency. We came with two teenage kids, and they both enjoyed it very much too.
Everything!! This place is absolutely incredible. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Great location away from the hustle and bustle of the east bank, but just a 2 minute complimentary boat ride across. Every detail of this place has been well thought out. Menu changes each day and the food was excellent! You would be doing yourself a disservice not to stay here during your time in Luxor. It was my favorite stay in all of Egypt.
The location, breakfast, and staff really make this place a great stay. The hotel itself is a little old but the staff does a good job of cleaning and if there is an issue they are quick to resolve it. The wifi was surprisingly good. Also, the tours arranged by the hotel are some of the best tours I've had in Egypt. The tour guide, Fawakeh, and the driver really went above and beyond to make the days great for us.
Almost everything. A wonderful homestay experience in Luxor. Situated in the west bank area (almost 40 minutes from downtown). Rooms were very clean, breakfast and dinner was very nice (Egyptian style). House owner and wife were very nice and helpful. We got rooms in the first floor so my mother didn't have to climb too many stairs. View from rooftop is nice. Many banana fields are nearby.
The Steigenberger Nile Palace Luxor is a great choice for a visit to Luxor. Aside from the facilities and view on offer, the staff (in particular Mostafa, one of the hotel managers) is very attentive to guests from the point of arrival until departure, in contrast to other Egyptian hotels. The location is also good nestled on the Nile's banks and in Luxor's centre.
Hotel is one floor of the building. Small and cozy with large rooms. Very helpful staff. Wonderful view from rooftop terrace and lunch options at rooftop restaurant. Excellent air conditioning. Location: right off the public ferry dock. Near small stores, pharmacy etc.
It’s Egypt don’t expect an immaculate and all new building for this bargain price.
It’s the best accommodation you can have in Luxor, super clean everything is very well taken care of, all equipments are there. Location is good and safe, we liked how calm it is. The host and the housekeeper are one of the best people you can cross in Egypt. Very helpful.
Very peaceful hotel just outside Luxor city center, just next to Nilo river. Huge and tasty breakfast everyday, nice pool areas, nice staff. Wifi was great for egyptian standards. Super comfy rooms!
Amazing! We loved this property. If you plan on doing a lot of tours and sightseeing in Egypt especially Luxor this is a must stay. Good value for the price- beautiful patio and pool area!
located next to Luxor temple
bedrooms facing the Nile are beautiful.
very nice garden and pool on the Nile
Very pricey for Egyptian standard ( rooms, drink, food)
